BBC Scotland is today reporting: Police officers in Scotland will withdraw goodwill in protest at a pay offer they said shows “contempt” for their work. Police officers feel totally undervalued by the service, and that has been apparent from the surveys that have taken place in the last six months from both Police Scotland and the SPF The BBC Scotland report does not, of course, compare average or starting salaries across the UK. This occurred during the period when police forces in Scotland were run locally and the force responsible here was Strathclyde Police. Police Scotland had not yet been created. It was Police Scotland which solved this crime. However, the media are not making much of that. 1.6% of Scotland’s addresses ‘too dangerous’ for ambulances without police escort, maybe

..too dangerous for ambulance crews to attend without police back-up…the Scottish Police Federation (trade union) is warning that budget constraints mean it will be physically impossible to respond to every call for assistance. BBC Scotland woman journalists betray their own kind just to protect UK minister responsible for mass deaths!

On the left, how BBC Scotland want you to remember Nicola Sturgeon’s much-praised performance in the pandemic with, on the right, the reality most of us should remember. The BBC Scotland report is unattributed but there are lots of senior women at Pacific Quay who might have selected a better headline had they a shred of decency in them.
