Radioactive tritium emissions around Clyde nuclear sub base which ‘smash into’ your DNA, DOUBLE as cancer cases surge yet smoking rates plummet

By Professor John Robertson, OBA From the CND, yesterday: Radioactive air emissions have been increasing year-on-year at Coulport one of Britain’s nuclear submarine bases in Scotland. This development is of some concern as it would lead to increased health risks wherever the emissions were inhaled.  Investigations by The Ferret and The National newspaper found that emissions of radioactive tritiated water vapour had doubled at the Royal Navy’s nuclear weapons storage depot at Coulport on Loch Long between 2018 and 2023. According to the Scottish Pollution Release Inventory, tritiated water vapour emissions at Coulport were 1.7 billion becquerels (units of radioactivity) in 2018, rising steadily to … Continue reading Radioactive tritium emissions around Clyde nuclear sub base which ‘smash into’ your DNA, DOUBLE as cancer cases surge yet smoking rates plummet

Fireworks Night a ‘damp squib’ as offences plummet except in Pacific Quay

By Professor John Robertson OBA The BBC Scotland report on last night’s fireworks events is one of the simplest best examples of media bias and you could use it with 11 year-olds. It’s so naked and simple, you might force a wee ironic snigger. It opens with Firefighters attacked on Bonfire Night as crews take 1,000 calls and goes on with 32 (count them) paragraphs describing incidents, interspersed with images, including those of masked hooded youths with big fireworks. Then and only then from paragraphs 33 to 36, we hear: Overall, the force said the incidents of serious disorder had fallen this … Continue reading Fireworks Night a ‘damp squib’ as offences plummet except in Pacific Quay

Just a complaint, no charges but Alex Salmond has been the top story on the Politics page of BBC Scotland website since 3 November while the Labour council leader actually charges fades within hours

By Anonymous Another BBC ‘Blink and you miss it’ headline at the top of their Scottish pages of their website when it is considered to be too #BAD a story connected to another political party who are in opposition to the SNP. While many headlines concocted by the BBC and so promoted as being connected to, as in linked to a #SNPBAD story, well as articles they stay (high) up on the BBC website for days on end, sometimes with different versions of the same story via a variety of articles in the Scottish pages of their BBC website. For example on their Scottish Politics page the top story is still a story connected to a … Continue reading Just a complaint, no charges but Alex Salmond has been the top story on the Politics page of BBC Scotland website since 3 November while the Labour council leader actually charges fades within hours

Scotland’s emergency departments at least 10% better than in NHS England in September 2024 and probably more than that if the latter’s trickery is exposed

UK gender pay gap is more than THREE times greater than in Scotland – Herald ignores true facts of Scotland’s tiny and plummeting gender pay gap and headlines an unreliable non-transparent trade union figure

By Professor John Robertson OBA From Annual survey of hours and earnings: 2024, published only 6 days ago by the Scottish Government statisticians: The gender pay gap in Scotland has been narrower than in the UK since 2003. In 2024, the gender pay gap for full-time employees in Scotland widened from 1.4 per cent in 2023 to 2.2 per cent in 2024. This is due to men’s hourly earnings (excluding overtime) increasing at a faster rate than women’s hourly earnings (excluding overtime). In 2024, the gender pay gap for full-time employees in Scotland was 2.2 per cent and in the UK was 7.0 … Continue reading UK gender pay gap is more than THREE times greater than in Scotland – Herald ignores true facts of Scotland’s tiny and plummeting gender pay gap and headlines an unreliable non-transparent trade union figure

Labour councillor charged with domestic abuse…by Wimbledon Guardian, Enfield Independent, Penarth Times but BBC Scotland still working on making the headline too long to include ‘Labour’

The BBC Scotland site below: Struggling to catch up with the McCabe charge story but still hanging on to the Salmond not-a-charge, non-story? Scotland’s media long-standing double standards on sex offences: In 2021: SNP MP accused of sexual harassment makes news. BBC Scotland have him. Daily Mail – 100 children as young as 13 dealing drugs in Scotland coerced by dealers ‘always’ not ‘often’ from cities in England

The above image is from the Times in 2017! Seven years later Scotland’s media refuse to tell us about this plague of County Lines drug gangs – extreme violence, child abuse, new cheaper deadly drugs helping to maintain Scotland’s drug deaths statistics, prostitution and people trafficking. Today, the Daily Mail which has in the past been more accurate, has: More than 100 children as young as 13 have been caught supplying drugs in Scotland as charities warn growing numbers are being forced into crime. Gangs are known to coerce vulnerable youngsters into trafficking drugs across the UK using so-called ‘county lines’ … Continue reading Daily Mail – 100 children as young as 13 dealing drugs in Scotland coerced by dealers ‘always’ not ‘often’ from cities in England

Herald writer’s cringing ignorance of the best equipped ferry service in the world – ours

By Professor John Robertson, Rough Guide Best International Ferry Correspondent 2022, 2023 and 2024 In the Herald yesterday: MUCH has been said about Scotland’s ongoing ferry fiasco which has left the network with a large number of passengers but hardly any ships. It should be the gold standard of marine disasters, an exemplar to show the world how not to do things. An exemplar, eh, Simpson? Have you looked at any other ferry services in other parts which might be exemplars of how to do things? You haven’t? Thought so. Too tired? Here, I’ll do it. First, Calmac has 33 vessels in … Continue reading Herald writer’s cringing ignorance of the best equipped ferry service in the world – ours
