Scotland v Portugal – Guardian and BBC Scotland see two different games

Thanks to @Kokotxas1 for alerting me to this: The Guardian‘s Ewan Murray sees an even game (above) and reports: Scotland delivered a resolute defensive display to hold Portugal to a goalless draw and secure the first point of their Nations League A campaign. The Scots passed up a glorious chance in the opening minutes through Scott McTominay and were then starved of possession as the visitors searched for an opener. Scotland’s dramatically better cancer waiting times

By Professor John Robertson OBA Today, BBC UK’s Nick Triggle has: The cancers with longest treatment waits revealed with the above graph for NHS England data. I’ve added, where possible, equivalent Scottish data. While skin and prostate/kidney waiting times do seem slightly longer in Scotland, in 5 key areas, including breast, lung and liver cancers, NHS Scotland ‘s performance is dramatically better, saving thousands of lives. Tarves (population 1 080) on 29 June 2024 react with shock to the above in the P&J local newspaper. BBC Scotland NE did not cover the story but STV NE did and mentioned County Lines in the headline. BBC Scotland has only covered County Lines drug gangs 3 times since 2019 with the last, naming them and their origins, in 2021. From Police Scotland, last night, the above image and: Two men have been sentenced for their part in a County Lines drugs operation between the North East of Scotland and the West Midlands. Fleury Tsaty, aged 29, was jailed for three years and three months, at Aberdeen Sheriff Court on Friday, 28 June, 2024. Wasem Sharif, aged 19, was issued an 18 month community payback order.
