The Herald is all at sea on ferry contracts

Professor John Robertson OBA So, in March 2025, the Herald says give Ferguson Marine work without the need for competitive tender. Two days later another Herald writer agrees. By July, they’re still on that side but by October, below, they flip: Wait, two days later, they flip back again! I’m getting ferry sick. Shocking contrast between customer satisfaction with CalMac and British Columbia Ferries with latter often screamed at, spat on or threatened due to poor performance

Professor John Robertson OBA From the Times Colonist on 10 October 2025: The union representing B.C. Ferries workers says its members are facing “disturbing” levels of abuse from passengers. A survey of B.C. Ferry and Marine Workers’ Union members indicated that more than 80 per cent of respondents said they have been threatened with violence on the job, and 92 per cent said they have witnessed it. The union released the results of its survey as the Thanksgiving weekend got underway in what is expected to be one of the year’s busiest for ferry travellers. Behind every sailing is a crew doing … Continue reading Shocking contrast between customer satisfaction with CalMac and British Columbia Ferries with latter often screamed at, spat on or threatened due to poor performance

In April 2025 Swinney wrote back to the Herald to commit to eradicating child poverty but they chose instead to misrepresent him.

Professor John Robertson OBA On 30 April 2025, the First Minister wrote back, under FOI rules, to say the above and that below: If you read it, you’ll see it represents a strong commitment to eventually eradicate child poverty in Scotland, a spirited defence of what has been achieved already and clear identification of the factors beyond his control, limiting progress. In the following days, the Herald did publish the FM’s letter in full but then choose to mislead its readers and aid the Scottish Labour party campaign for May 226, with: In the first of the above, they chose … Continue reading In April 2025 Swinney wrote back to the Herald to commit to eradicating child poverty but they chose instead to misrepresent him.

After 11 years, the Labour Party is finally confirmed as ‘fatally corrupt’ as leading academic withdraws his regret in light of Gaza genocide complicity, McSweeney funding scandal, several sex offences and Neil Bibby’s poor arithmetic

Professor John Robertson OBA In my interview above, 11 March 2014, to defend my research revealing a quantitative 3 to 1 bias in BBC Scotland coverage of the referendum campaign, 36 min in: Neil Bibby (Labour): Is it your belief, stated publicly, that the Labour Party is ‘fatally corrupt?’  There’s a quote from an interview you gave to Open Democracy, where you said ‘There are good people in the BBC. Mindless loyalty to a now fatally corrupt Labour Party is not uniform.’ Me: ‘I don’t think I should have said that last bit. I think the first bit I should … Continue reading After 11 years, the Labour Party is finally confirmed as ‘fatally corrupt’ as leading academic withdraws his regret in light of Gaza genocide complicity, McSweeney funding scandal, several sex offences and Neil Bibby’s poor arithmetic

And yet wildlife crime is falling in Scotland?

Professor John Robertson OBA The Herald report above fails to mention the latest wildlife crime statistics. Here they are: From the Scottish Government: The Chief Statistician for Scotland has released figures for Wildlife Crime in Scotland 2022. The statistics show that recorded wildlife crime was down by 7% from 308 offences in 2020-21 to 286 offences in 2021-22. The report shows that there were noticeable decreases in recorded crime for fish poaching (from 110 to 49 offences) and hunting with dogs (from 44 to 13 offences). Publication of Wildlife Crime in Scotland 2022 – gov.scot (www.gov.scot) BBC Scotland have no … Continue reading And yet wildlife crime is falling in Scotland?

The plague of English drug gangs surging 40% in one year and holding back progress on drug deaths – How BBC Highland will tell the truth that cannot be told in BBC Scotland

Professor John Robertson OBA As in the previous two series, BBC Highland Cops, outsourced production, is prepared to make clear that the surge in drug crime and associated extreme violence, across the Scottish Highlands, is due to the arrival in the last 6 or so so years of County Lines gangs entirely from English cities, 10 in Inverness alone. Notably the recent Scottish MSM attempts to add Glasgow to the list of cities where such gangs have origins is not sustained by this. In language you will never see on BBC Scotland or STV: county lines group. The first wee … Continue reading The plague of English drug gangs surging 40% in one year and holding back progress on drug deaths – How BBC Highland will tell the truth that cannot be told in BBC Scotland

Once you are identified as being a news source that consistently promotes misinformation then it should really be ‘Game Over

By Liz S MSM Monitor posted this on ‘X’ in respect to the BBC Sunday show: “The Sunday Show lined up Douglas Alexander and Margaret Curran to follow John Swinney’s conference interview. Two hard-line Labour BritNats. Alexander launched into multiple SNPBad attacks with zero challenge. There were no SNP voices on during the Labour conference. None” Curran another Labour Dinosaur and also historically a failed MP , who was , like others, one who was (eventually) parachuted , in January 2025 , into the HOL. An action that Sir Keir Starmer assumed was acceptable to do (though did he really care on … Continue reading Once you are identified as being a news source that consistently promotes misinformation then it should really be ‘Game Over

Correcting the BBC – UK Government is not paying to build warships on the Clyde, Norway is

By Liz S MSM Monitor posted this on ‘X’ on 12/10/25 in respect to a Laura Kuenssberg interview with John Swinney on her Sunday Politics programme……. “Laura Kuenssberg twice claimed the UK Govt was supplying £10bn to build warships on the Clyde. This is false. The £10bn will come from Norway after it signed a deal with BAE systems. The UK Govt isn’t supplying any cash” . Meanwhile the same BBC in August 2025 on their website wrote…. “UK secures £10bn deal to supply Norway with warships” So let’s break that BBC website headline down. “UK secures £10bn” not as Kuenssberg was stating “ UK Govt was supplying £10bn”. Big difference is there not in both statements…….as in both cannot be … Continue reading Correcting the BBC – UK Government is not paying to build warships on the Clyde, Norway is

There will be no tears if we lose this Loose Woman

Professor John Robertson OBA Let’s hope this is not a cruel joke and that we do see the end of the likes of Gary Robertson, Laura Maxwell, Fiona Stalker and, of course, from her own show, the dread Kaye Adams. I see they seem to like her on that Loose Women show. They don’t know her like we do. Loose Women? More Loose-tongued: Loose accounting too: From ITV, on 11 October 2023, but only spotted now after a month of careful concealment by the BBC: Kaye Adams‘s dispute with HMRC over a potential £124k tax bill is being heard in … Continue reading There will be no tears if we lose this Loose Woman

In a medium sized country like Scotland not far away there is a ‘Labour Party’ in opposition that takes a different view from the socially conservative Mr Sarwar.

By stewartb In a medium sized country like Scotland not far away there is a ‘Labour Party’ in opposition that takes a different view from the socially conservative Mr Sarwar. This is the Labour Party of Ireland. Source: https://labour.ie/policy/decrim/ ‘Labour believes in a system in decriminalisation and taking a health led approach. It’s time to take problem drug use out of the courts and wrap supports around people who need help. Criminalising, shaming and stigmatising people in addiction leads to a system that undermines and dehumanises people who need our support, care and compassion. It’s time to change it. ‘Decriminalising would mean: … Continue reading In a medium sized country like Scotland not far away there is a ‘Labour Party’ in opposition that takes a different view from the socially conservative Mr Sarwar.
