Yesterday, in one day alone, Talking-up Scotland performed like this:

The 6 posts, like those on almost every other day in the year took hours to research and write. I’m not complaining about the work. It’s good for me at 74 but I cannot help seeing this below as a sobering assessment of how the value of it is really perceived by almost everyone of those thousands.

Tell me why I’m wrong?

Some of those visitors will be ops looking to see what they are up against, when it comes to them or their own media telling porkies…they definitely wouldn’t donate even a penny.
Not sure what the solution is. 😏

It’s hard, there are so many things competing for support now and while I am a regular donor here there are other blogs & articles I read without contributing. I just hope it balances out somehow! It is tricky when you want to share your knowledge as widely as possible to change minds and influence decisions, while at the same time looking for financial support – if you go behind a paywall you lose much of your audience, if you don’t you feel your work isn’t valued. I feel for you and other set-ups like Broadcasting Scotland, without wealthy backers or licence fees I’m not sure we’ll ever be able to create a Scotland wide media service.

I just can’t get my head around the fact that all of these people cannot make a small donation. I believe your work is the most informative and beneficial in combating the guff thrown around by the MSM in Scotland. The Scottish government should employ you and your helpers immediately.
