From BBC London this morning:
Police are continuing to question a 13-year-old boy arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, as counter terrorism officers lead an investigation into the stabbing of two boys at a school in north-west London. Officers were called to Kingsbury High School in Brent, at 12:40 GMT on Tuesday, to find a 13-year-old and and a 12-year-old had been attacked.
Only three months ago, BBC Scotland had this:
‘Our kids are killing each other – we need to do something’
Just one year ago the Express had:
Scottish schools knife crisis as 500 weapons used and discipline ‘collapses’ under the SNP – New figures obtained by the Scottish Conservatives nearly 10 years after a pupil was killed in a knife attack at school lays bare the depth of the issue
What is the real situation, one not fabricated for a political agenda?
From Police Scotland in 2024:
Having in a school an article with a blade or point
- 2023/2024 – 22 cases
- 2022/2023 – 25 cases
- 2021/2022 – 71 cases
- 2020/2021 – 48 cases
- 2019/2020 – 87 cases
- 2018/2019 – 76 cases
- 2017/2018 – 96 cases
Source: Crime data – Police Scotland
So, per head, the 2024 figure might, with 11 times the population, be expected to be around 240 in England and Wales.
It was 1 304, nearly 12 times as common! https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c77d06vde4po
Note: two police forces did not provide data and one seems certain to have been the Met in London (there is no mention of a London incident in the BBC report), so the figure will be much higher.
