Mandelson , the once Business Secretary in Gordon Brown’s cabinet and also he was once appointed as the UK ambassador to the US by Keir Starmer, is yet another Labour scandal coming just after the other recent big Labour scandal .
It was reported that “Jeffrey Epstein made $75,000 (£55,000) of payments to accounts connected to Lord Mandelson, bank statements released by the US Department of Justice suggest“
Lord Mandelson said he had no record or recollection of receiving the sums and did not know whether the documents were authentic.
The other Labour scandal being when it was reported recently that Jim Murphy’s lobbying firm asked companies for £30,000 to sponsor an event, including a “photo opportunity” with a minister and access to a “VIP dinner” with “top advisers” to Keir Starmer and Rachel Reeves. (Murphy being a former leader of Scottish Labour and also an ex-Labour cabinet minister under Blair and Gordon Brown).
Arden Strategies said in a statement: “Information about an event unfortunately contained very clumsy language by mistake which should never have been used and hadn’t been approved.
“It was stupid to do and we apologise for this mistake. This included mentioning attendees who had not been confirmed. We are sorry for these errors.”
So Labour ministers and their advisors were all oblivious to this arrangement Murphy had set up?
These are the people who assume that they can critique others in politics while knowing that they themselves are far from perfect when it comes to their own suspect behaviour.
Also Labour , both HQ and the branch office in Scotland, constantly cast aspersions upon the SNP as if their own Labour party were above reproach.
Clearly Labour are not above reproach but are mired in various scandals , as a party and via individuals within their party.
Mandelson cannot recollect receiving this alleged money , convenient.
Also a representative of Jim Murphy’s lobbying firm used the weak excuse that it was “clumsy language” , “stupid to do” and that they are “sorry for these errors”, as if that is credible to believe in respect to what was being offered and the amount it would cost.
Follow the money, the quest for power and look at the party that they , as individuals , are linked to.
I thought all of this kind of behaviour was meant to be only associated with the Tory party via them as former various UK governments……..
Seems not, as some things clearly never ever change.
(Seems a very hard lesson that should be learned by all of those within Scotland who voted in 37 Labour MP’s in the 2024 GE, some will learn from their ‘mistake’ and others will seemingly either forget or forgive and so will vote for Labour again. However it seems that same forgetfulness and forgiveness will never be extended to the SNP based upon all of the UK media’s relentless drive to publish and broadcast #SNPBAD news).
The BBC will need to pull out another Scottish Ferry story to try to distract us all from the constant Labour scandals.

Follow the money indeed Liz S. Next up, no doubt, the return of PFI contracts through local authorities.
