UK Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood
Today, in the Guardian:
Home Office to launch ‘British FBI’ to deal with serious crime UK-wide – National Police Service will investigate organised crime, terrorism, fraud and online child abuse. The government is setting up a National Police Service – dubbed the “British FBI” – to deal with organised crime, terrorism, fraud and online child abuse in a major change to policing in England and Wales.
The new organisation, which will be announced by the Home Office in a white paper on Monday, means fraud, criminal gang and UK-wide counter terror investigations will no longer be carried out by a combination of existing agencies such as the National Crime Agency and regional organised crime units run by local police forces.
There’s no mention of the situation in Scotland, in the above report. How might that be a problem for the UK Government? Well, the far lower crimes rates and better clear-up rates north of the border would suggest to the public in rUK that this is just another example of kicking a big problem into the long grass when the solution is clear – increase police staffing and more widely, reduce inequality across the board with a more compassionate social security system, a real fight against child poverty, support nurse training, more progressive taxation and more collegiate political behaviour by the party of government, to name a few.
Why should they look north for lessons? First much lower crime rates achieved:
and:

“Britain and British” refers to the land south of Hadrian’s Wall–the actual Roman Britain.
Get that bit straight and you will have nailed it. “Scotland”, for them, is NOT British–we are a British colony just as all the other British colonies were never actually “British”, just ruled by them.
So…..British FBI, British Broadcasting Corps, British Labour/Tories etc, Great British Energy, British Rail et al. None of them pertain to Scotland.
