The Sunday Mail, now day after day, campaigning for Labour with some dreamed up statistics, set out by some undereducated or dishonest Labour spad, for them. No way would I pay less than a quid, never mind £3.40, to find out, nor will I do them the honour or marking their sums.
The idea that the Scottish Government/SNP is in any way responsible for how much a headteacher gives a class teacher to spend on consumables is, and of course they know that, beyond ridicule.
Here is what the Scottish and the UK Labour governments are responsible for, from the latest report from the Institute for Fiscal Studies for 2025-26:
Spending per pupil in Scotland is about £10,100 in 2024–25, which is about 20% higher than the £8,400 per pupil level seen in England. This gap has widened from a difference of about 4% in 2009–10. Partly as a result of this higher spending, class sizes tend to be smaller in Scotland, with a pupil–teacher ratio of about 13 in 2024 compared with 17–19 in the rest of the UK.

Imagine The Sunday Mail and The Daily Record honestly reporting ( stop laughing at the back ! ) the record of the present Labour Government or the policies of the Scottish (sic ) Labour Party ( no , I can’t think of any either ) instead of these ridiculous , invented Headlines.
They might even attract a few more readers who thought that they were actually a Newspaper rather than a propaganda sheet for the rapidly disappearing Scottish Branch of the English Labour party .

You mean they pay for this dross?
I might pick up a copy if it was free.
My daughter needs it for her rabbit’s cage. and it’d be useful at my allotment for composting, weed prevention etc…

So that’d be about 99p more than Liebour spent on kids’ education when my kids were at school, (and forget about special educational needs support, ‘no money no money no money’) and that would be mirrored should they take control of Holyrood again…NO thanks!
