As election looms Fergus Ewing should not be aiding the prospects of the very parties responsible for the lack of money for the Nairn Bypass in the first place and for long resisting the dualling of the A9

On BBC Scotland this morning, Fergus claims he’s found documents suggesting no funding has been identified to take the Nairn Bypass scheme forward.

The folk of Nairn have my sympathy but they should know that their MSP is now campaigning with BBC Scotland and the gutter-press, to help the election 2026 prospects of the very parties which in 2007, forced the minority SNP government to proceed with the £1bn Edinburgh Trams Project and have no choice but to slash spending on roads.

Labour, Conservatives and Lib Dumbs combined to overpower the SNP which had proposed scrapping the scheme as part of their election manifesto.

What would the £1bn have achieved in 2007? At the time £600m was being quoted to dual Perth to Inverness:

Why is Fergus doing this at this time? Like all the other recent retirees from the SNP, carping at the current leadership, it’s ego over mission.

  2. There’s a name for those who benefit greatly from membership of a group or party who then after leaving, or being voted out, do the dirty work of those they supposedly opposed. Hmm, what does the BritNat English state have to gain from such disloyalty in this case in Scotland.

    attack the SNP and help Farist into power.
    He loves Scotland.

    Our roads will be perfect in no time.
    Alternatively Fergus, retire and stop being a traitor to Scotland.

    Was he happy to trade on his mum’s name to get elected and progress through the ranks to get a ”nice little earner ” for years ?

    Why not go the whole hog , Fergus , and join the Tories ?

    1. Well, he did cosy up to the Duke of Buccleuch for long enough and presided over the sell of into private hands of huge swathes of publicly owned forestry and agricultural land.

      His mammy would be turning in her grave if she knew.

  6. His words prove that he is someone whose first commitment is not in seeing Scottish independence happen any time soon.

    His timing, re his supposed findings, tells you that.

    Now is certainly not the time to carp from the sidelines , as in be given a public platform by the UK media , to rally against the SNP as the Scottish government , unless one accepts, as in that he knows, that in doing so he could then potentially jeopardise a pro Indy majority post the Scottish elections in May.

    So many egos who put their own selfish interests aka petty revenge before us the people of Scotland and indeed also before Scotland as a country.

    I do so hope he loses his seat as an independent , as we already have more than enough Unionist allies, as in Unionist Thorns (currently within and outwith Holyrood) trying to burst the bubble of the SNP as the Scottish government……
