Professor John Robertson OBA
According to the Scottish Daily Express yesterday:
Jewish families are considering leaving Scotland in the face of a backlash against the community over the conflict in Gaza, with the First Minister accused of stoking tensions
The Jewish population is in decline but that’s a result of intermarriage, aging, assimilation, secularisation and some movement historically but not recently, to Israel and other parts of the world. There’s no sign they’d be fleeing to places where anti-semitism is much more of an issue
I’ve been following the annual survey by the Jewish charity, the Community Security Trust, of anti-semitic offences since 2022. In that time there have been increases in offences in England but not in Scotland and, notably, year after year, not one physical assault in Scotland and four times the rate of lesser offences such as graffiti in England.
In October this year we saw:

also hopeful it is safer as Jewish people to live in Glasgow, in Scotland than there is not as much anti-Semitism, ant-Zionism, there is not these much going ahead, there is not so much hatred.
Reporting Scotland last night we saw an interview with a Jewish woman from Glasgow, welcoming the apparent peace settlement in Gaza but also, unscripted, telling the reporter that she is aware of less anti-Semitism in Scotland.
This is not something the MSM here want you to be thinking. Remember, we’re just like the rest of the UK, bad.

While BBC Scotland can never say these things directly, they always make sure you see or hear them in their press reviews.
However, this little insert is a useful confirmation of the more objective evidence found in research such as that produced by the UK Jewish group, the CST:
Contrary to media hysteria, there was not one anti-Semitic violent attack recorded in Scotland in 2024
The most recent report on anti-semitic attacks in the UK, in 2024, from the CST, published 12 February 2025, prompted some excited media coverage at the time but today the hoisting, in Edinburgh, of a Palestine flag in sympathy for the genocide in Gaza and in line with the UN position on Palestine as an independent state has enabled the above front page mince.
From Antisemitic Incidents 2024:
CST recorded 3,528 antisemitic incidents in the UK in 2024, the second-highest total ever reported to CST in a single calendar year.
Only one of the cases could be described by the researchers as ‘Extreme Violence include any antisemitic attack with the potential or intention of causing loss of life or grievous bodily harm (GBH).’ 126 cases were described as ‘violent.’ None of these took place in Scotland.
74 of these all cases reported took place in Scotland, with 8% of the UK population so, per head of population, that would be equivalent to just below 900, around a quarter of the rate.
Bizarrely the only case reported in Scotland and used in the report is this:
A series of antisemitic leaflets were seen in northern Scotland. They were produced by the Goyim Defence League and claimed that “Every Single Aspect Of Feminism Is Jewish”

the Times has the same story.

I know that the print media has been in decline for years, but why any Scot buys these rags is beyond me. Is it just because they put the word Scottish in their titles? I can honestly say that since 2014 I have never bought, or read, any of these lying publications. They are all enemies of Scotland being an Independent nation once again.

Thomas Kerr posted this yesterday on ‘X’:
“Delighted to join @GlasgowFOI volunteers on Buchanan Street yesterday. Whatever the weather, Vicci, Sammy and the whole team are out advocating for peace. Thanks to all those who stopped by and offered support”!
(“FOI” is Friends of Israel).
Then he posted a picture of him in the middle of a group of people some of whom were holding an Israel flag aloft.
He also posted this on the same day :
“You should be ashamed of yourself @JohnSwinney”
Where he also included with this other post a picture and a quote from the non Scottish Daily Express that stated “John Swinney told his inflammatory language is putting Scots Jews at risk”.
Obviously none of them, including Thomas Kerr nor the non Scottish Daily Express, want to acknowledge , promote nor condemn Farage when recently the Reform UK leader was exposed by former classmates as having made offensive remarks to some of them , aka bullied them when he , Farage, was a youngster at School.
One of whom , when he was a Jewish Schoolboy, stated that the young Nigel Farage would regularly come up to him and say ‘Hitler was right’ and he’d also come up to him , and he’d go, ‘g*s them’“.
Could you get any more inflammatory remarks as those that the young Nigel Farage said to that young Jewish boy at school and also could they be any more anti semitic as comments?
The man said that experience marked him when he said “You know, anti-semitism is often called the oldest hatred. And when I think of the oldest hatred, it’s Nigel Farage’s face that I absolutely see in front of me.”
Also reported was that “More than two dozen of his (Farage’s) school peers, including Mr Ettedgui, told the newspaper of alleged incidents of deeply offensive behaviour by the Reform UK leader throughout his teenage years“
“Farage has denied the allegations and said he has “never directly really tried to go and hurt anybody.”
Another classmate said “Farage’s defence that he’s “never directly racially abused anybody” is “just not true, I’ve witnessed it”.
He also added that “”Anybody who wasn’t white would likely have a comment, and that’s for many years – we’re talking 13, 14 all the way up to senior school” .
ITVX stated that “In an interview last month, when asked if he, Farage, ever racially abused fellow pupils, Farage replied, “not with intent”.
“not with intent” ?
That’s not a ‘Get out of Jail card” for Farage or in any way allowing him to be absolved, because clearly what was reported as having been said to and about Jewish people by Farage i.e. “Hitler was right” and “G*s them” well that is most certainly intentionally anti semitic and extremely inflammatory language.
However all that Thomas Kerr and the non Scottish Daily Express’s are attempting to do is to try to project their fake news onto John Swinney in respect to the actual kind of bad behaviour and offensive language which the current HQ Reform UK leader , Nigel Farage, has been accused of dishing out to his former classmates, one of whom was Jewish.
Breaking News for Thomas Kerr & The non Scottish Daily Express:
Opposing the abhorrent actions of the Israeli government against the Palestinian people is not, I repeat not, anti semitic nor is the lack of condemnation for the group called Palestine action……..Thomas Kerr needs to look closer to his own political home if he wants to justifiably state this on a post on X that he said against the SNP FM:
“You should be ashamed of yourself” as in he should direct that towards his HQ leader and not at John Swinney.
Kerr an idiot , that deliberately ignores the recently exposed racism and anti semitic behaviour of his own HQ leader, Farage, via his former classmates , as he, Kerr, is too consumed with being uber subservient to an English Nationalist (pretend) party and also all of the English Nationalist right wing media.
Career over country has a tendency to make you say anything just to try and undeservedly win something via your constant lies and hate.
Maybe he could also check out the Blue Sky account called “Reform UK Exposed” that often highlights, via posts, examples of racism coming from Reform UK Councillors , either prior to them being elected or after.
Or is that an inconvenient truth, way too close to his Political home, for the likes of the big fat hypocrite Thomas Kerr. (a Tory in all but current new party name, just like all of his Reform UK colleagues).
