Herald headlines shoddy TUC research suggesting only 1 job for every £1m in wind energy, instead of 5 peer-reviewed research papers showing up to 9 times as many

Professor John Roberson OBA

The Herald once more sailing the putrid waters of disinformation on behalf of the trade unions they once despised, has the above outrageous claim based on research by the TUC.

This is not snobbery but can we have something by trained impartial researchers on this?

We already have? 5 of them?

Even the Fraser of Allander? In 2023, 7.6 to 8.1 jobs per £1m GVA (Gross Valued Added).1

In 2020, in Renewable and Sustainable Energy Reviews, Vol 119, 7-9 FTE jobs per £1m GVA.2

Also, in 2019, in Energy Economics, 5-15 temporary jobs,3

2016, in Renewable Energy Vol 85, 20-30% boost in local jobs.4

Will 5 do?

One more:

2013 in Marine Policy Vol 3=43, 7-9 jobs per £1m GVA.5

  1. Hm, I just had a thought, EngGovs’ GB energy, was it not a massive media frenzy promise of thousands of jobs (not for Scots mind you) in Scotland, the BritNats are all ha ha ha, we lied and yous are getting nothing suckers!
Propaganda works otherwise the BritNat state wouldn’t deploy such tactics to keep Scotland shackled, so that EngGov can keep taking Scotland’s oil and gas and, renewables energy etc etc. Sigh.

  2. If I might quote from ‘ josh pizzuto-pomaco ‘s Herald profile, ” I am one of The Herald’s digital reporters “, as contrasted by his Linkedin profile of ” I am currently working at The Herald on a part time basis, where I contribute to the digital and print teams. The Herald Scotland Graphic. Intern. The Herald”, and on Muck-rack where ” My name is Josh Pizzuto-Pomaco and I am a casual reporter and features writer at The Herald “.

Josh ping-pong or piz-pom’s acquaintance with honest reporting is at best ‘casual’, as to his ‘digital reporter’ claims, I wonder if he’d hazard a guess as to which digit is extended having read this tripe ?

The only disconnect is at the Herald, but no surprise there really these days…
