As UK media focus today on the one case of an asylum seeker accused of sex offences against a minor, BBC UK tell us the above.

In Scotland, these last few months, the MSM have had tales of crisis-hit prisons, breaching prisoners’ human rights and a level of overcrowding that cannot be ignored.

In these alleged circumstances, you have to think mistakes like those above will have been made in Scotland too.

No specific, documented cases of prisoners being released by mistake (i.e., administrative errors in sentence calculation, processing, or discharge unrelated to emergency schemes) were publicly reported or detailed in official Scottish Prison Service (SPS) data for the calendar year 2024.

Some may wonder if such errors are being hidden in Scotland but tellingly, there are no MSM reports to suggest they are. If there had been even one mistaken release last year, we’d have head about it, all day and for days.

So, 262? They’ll doorstep the Home Office Minister for this, surely? No.
