From UKAuthority, yesterday:
A new initiative aimed at helping Scottish businesses harness the power of AI has been launched, backed by nearly £1 million in Scottish Government funding. The programme will provide small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) with tailored consultancy services and grants to adopt or expand AI technologies, fostering innovation, market growth, and investment.
Delivered by enterprise agencies, Scottish Enterprise, Highlands and Islands Enterprise, and South of Scotland Enterprise, alongside The Data Lab, a not-for-profit, and the Scottish AI Alliance, the initiative is the first under AI Scotland, a broader transformation programme designed to accelerate AI adoption across the country. To launch the programme, Business Minister Richard Lochhead visited the Edinburgh Trams depot at Gogarburn in Edinburgh. Public transport operator Edinburgh Trams has been working with Edinburgh-based technology consultants Integrated Human Factors to develop a wearable fatigue monitoring device.
