As Scotsman front pages Harley Street private consultant to claim, based on one control centre misunderstanding with his son, they are ‘in total breakdown’ how Scotland’s ambulances were FOUR times faster in early 2024 before BBC pulled the site where I got the facts

The Scotsman today has this:

In January 2024, I wrote:

Via the BBC’s How long do patients wait for an ambulance? app today, we can confirm that the average waiting time for a Scottish ambulance is 8 min and 46 secs: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-59549800

Also, from BBC UK on 14 December 2023:

Average response times of more than 38 minutes for category two emergency calls such as heart attacks and strokes – above the target time of 18 minuteshttps://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-67714151

Yes, I know the English figures are only for Category 2 emergency calls such as heart attacks and strokes and we can’t see if the Scottish figures are for the same or for all categories, but if they were for all categories including the less serious ones, that would make the Scottish average even more impressive!

I did expect not to find Scottish postcodes in the app, as is the case for Wales and Northern Ireland. Let’s see if BBC Scotland manage to get them removed after they see this.

They seem to have stopped offering this service in early March 2024 when the Scottish average wait for an ambulance was 8 minutes and 36 seconds but for England, they stopped posting the average to replace it with the percentage waiting more than 30 minutes – 27%.

  1. The unionist MSM need to get their act together when producing anti-SNP Government headlines .

The Daily Record . Express , Scotsman etc…are wasting journalists’ time writing various stories about the Scottish NHS , Ferries , Scotrail , …etc , when they could apply a simple daily headline :

    ” Scotland is SHIT !”

Never having purchased any of these rags but simply perused their headlines on the newsstands , this is the clear message they broadcast every day . Why would any self-respecting person in Scotland pay to read this crap which daily denigrates us , our Government and , by association , our country ?

  2. Yep… Kinda realised Dr Sheen aka Dr Sandesh Gulhane, aka Hairgel boy with the NHS England lanyard wassisname, was behind this contrived bullshit, but it very much the pull off the shelf distraction piece the Hootsman trades in for a fee when Michael Sheen says the politically discomforting so very eloquently…

  3. O.K only one example, and personal. Last week my wife, 85yrs, and suffering from Alzheimer’s Disease became unresponsive. I called 999, and even before I had given all our details to the controller, a paramedic arrived. Closely followed by an ambulance. My wife is now under care by another marvellous system, Hospital at Home, which I opted for, and it means I can keep her with me, while being visited by a nurse/doctor on a daily basis. A simply wonderful health service, without which I would not be able to cope. Thank you.
