From the healthandcare.scot news channel, today:

Scotland falling behind on lung cancer screening – A leading lung cancer charity says, with a national lung screening programme announced for Wales last month and a scheme in England having already diagnosed thousands of new cases – Scotland is being left behind.

The ownership of this news and any associations they hold are not transparent though it seems to be owned and run by a John Keenan.

Not included, for necessary context, as it should be, this on cancer treatment more generally:

NHS Scotland:

In Q1 2025 (January–March), 94.1% of patients started treatment within 31 days and 68.9% of patients started treatment within 62 days.

NHS England:

In June 2025, 91.7% of patients started treatment within 31 days and 67.1% of patients started treatment within 62 days.

So, NHS Scotland performing significantly better and remember that around 2% difference means around 1 000 more patients treated on time in Scotland and around 10 000 more not treated on time in England.
