The BBC proxy war on the SNP using NHS Scotland – 42 slides explaining why and how it was launched

Professor John Robertson OBA

I put this together years ago and pre-pandemic, toured it a bit.

So, for the many who do not have Powerpoint to run it, here it old-fashioned:

    1. I you read the report it comes with a caveat. Namely they have changed the methodology which means it cannot be directly compared to the stats from previous years. That plus fewer people taking part in the survey means that while healthy life expectancy appears to be falling it may take results from another couple of years of data before a definitive answer is possible. However bearing these caveats in mind it does flag up what could be an emerging trend. If I remember correctly austerity was mentioned as a possible contributing cause of the fall in healthy life expectancy.

  1. That’s a lot of work John, thanks, you are a star.
I wonder which age group the BritNat EngGov are hoping to con about the SNHS. My older neighbours seem to fall prey to some of it, recently conned into paying thousands of pounds for essential eye treatment they could have easily had on the NHS. In fact I’d say the advice given by a private optician was verging on negligent, delaying essential treatment such as eye drops for a serious condition (I know what Glaucoma is my sister has it) and risking their eyesight. Instead advice was to wait a few weeks and go to a private clinic for an expensive operation.

I suspect the private ‘healthcare’ companies love it when the media demonisies the SNHS, they will be raking it in. Of course only those with money in the bank and or property can afford to go private anyway.

  2. Ironic to feature a pic of ‘Lazy Winters’ on the day her mentor Sarah ‘I spit on your graves’ Smith briefly rehaunts Scotland as ‘North America Correspondent’, only to depart again leaving her droppings in charge at Pacifier Quay…..

  3. The bottom line is :-

Treat all reports on the Scottish NHS by BBC Scotland as either unreliable or deliberately misleading ! ( or both ! )

  4. Not just BBC Scotland of course but STV are not far behind. It almost feels almost nightly now that any one with a complaint or grievance that can damage the SNP is given free airtime. Tonight was a case in point when three, no doubt hand picked women, were voicing their discontent with what they class as Women’s health issues. Nothing it seems is off limits and no matter how trivial or insignificant.
