    1. Cretin? A person considered to be foolish or unintelligent?

I have no particular axe to grind on behalf of the CEO of Welsh Water but why label him thus? Simply for accepting a remuneration package offered in return for his professional services or is this judgement based on his professional performance and/or personal knowledge?

One may be better criticising – disparaging – the company’s board for offering this level of remuneration and/or the regulator in Wales for allowing it and/or the regulator (and governments) in England for the usually even higher remuneration packages at water companies there which, because of proximity, will set the envelope of what is competitive financially to attract a CEO for a water company in the UK

The CEO of Scottish Water receives a very healthy remuneration package too. Also a ‘cretin’ just because of that?
