Regulars here will have seen our almost daily rebuttals of the lies and selective bias against NHS Scotland and our reports of 95% plus target busting in areas such as IVF, operations completed and drug and alcohol treatment. You will also have seen our comparisons of, for example, the crucial cancer and 18 week waiting lists showing far better performance in Scotland. Only in Scotland is the NHS politicised with all ‘failures’ headlined and opposition politicians platformed to attack the SNP Government rather than the actually responsible health board.
Despite this media ‘carpet bombing‘, folk in Scotland can still see that their NHS is worthy of approval.
From analysis of the latest British Social Attitudes (BSA) survey published today by the Nuffield Trust and The King’s Fund:
Welsh respondents (69%) were significantly more likely than respondents from England (52%) or Scotland (52%) to be dissatisfied, and this remained true when controlling for other factors. Moreover, only 5% of respondents from Wales said they were ‘very’ or ‘quite’ satisfied with social care in 2024. Despite the relatively small sample, this is significantly lower than respondents from England (13%) or Scotland (17%), and represents the lowest individual country satisfaction score for social care on record.

Mainly because of our age, we are both in our eighties, my wife and I have had to make use of quite a few of the branches of our N.H.S in the last few years, and the care has been second to none. That, allied to superb social care, without which, we would not have been able to live at home, is a testament to the planning that the Scottish Government has put into operation, enabling all Scots access to services which provide not only care, but compassion, to all those in need.

Well, I had to think twice on that one, as at first I could not believe that it was BBC Scotland you were referring to.
Then, the penny dropped 🙂
