Many thanks to AR for another of his regular assists with Labour in Scotland media fake news and the facts from Labour Wales.
Health spokesperson for Scotland’s 3rd biggest party, UK Labour (North), Jackie Baillie, Dame of the British Empire, is in the Scotsman today with:
Flu outbreak shows how badly the SNP is failing the NHS
There is, of course, no mention of the fact that the ‘SNP’ has enabled:
Vaccination uptake rates in the 65 years and over cohort remained high, reaching 79.8%. This is above the World Health Organization’s target ambition of 75%.1
There is, of course even more so, no mention of the fact that, in Wales, after decades of Labour rule, the comparable figure was a dangerously low 67.9% down from 70.6%, the previous year and well below the World Health Organization’s target ambition of 75%.2
Perhaps triggering the Baillie outbreak, FM Swinney had praises NHS Scotland for coping with the flu outbreak. Why had Swinney felt able to say coping?
Just these:
There are 12 nurses per 1 000 people in Scotland but only 9 in the UK.3
Scotland has 27.3% more GPs than England.4
Scotland has cleaner hospitals as evidenced by far lower hospital-acquired Covid cases. Independent sources on this.5
NHS Scotland has a bed for every 403 people whereas for NHS England it was 433.6
Finally, of course, of course, Baillie fails to mention her party’s slashing of the winter fuel allowance and allowing the highest energy costs, in Scotland, to actually generate more flu deaths this year.

Alas , this is the price that Damn Jaikie must pay for her a*se-licking subservience to the UK – nothing that happens north of the border must be seen to be better than elsewhere in this dis-united Kingdom . Therefore any Good News is immediately attacked by the UK Labour’s sneering , Poundland Jabba the Butt !
