A&E attendance at lowest for a year and roughly the same winter level for years

The Herald today, has:

Flu-hit A&E units running at four times over capacity

Clear in the above graph, overall pressure on A&E services, at the end of December was relatively low and, on average, little different from previous years.

After Health Secretary, Neil Gray, praised staff for ‘coping’ with the above surge in flu cases, the Express wrote:

‘Shameless’ Neil Gray’s pats himself on the back over NHS despite record lows and crisis-hit service

Kind of makes you wonder if professional journalism should be banned.

  1. Pointless complaining about the UK unionist media – ” up is down , black is white , good is bad , …..when reporting (?) on the Scottish NHS ” Situation normal !

  2. I have an English friend on FB who was quite happy with my criticism of the previous tory Government but, now Starmer’s lot are in he had got very protective about anything I have to say about them because, in his eyes, they are doing a much better job, especially when in the NHS. He told me that his wife had been in hospital in Scotland (they live here presently because of his job) and, I presume over the holiday period visited their relatives down south where she needed treatment in hospital there. He said there was no problem with waiting time and his wife’s treatment could not be faulted. This man is a very reasonable and thoughtful person who, although he supports the UK, listens to both sides of the argument.

It really did make me think that about the possibility that negative propaganda could possibly be at work re the NHS in England in order to speed up the desired outcome – privatisation. Or maybe I’ve just lost the plot completely and should get myself off SM.😊

  3. The Scottish Daily Express up sticks for England decades ago, to be replaced by the Daily Supress (Goebel Tower, Putin Street, Britnitshire)

It specialises in Lies, Spies (Branchform) and Porky Pies.
