The leader of Scotland’s fifth biggest party is everywhere in the media today with his latest freedom of information scoop – babies born addicted to drugs.
He tries to shock with More than 1,500 babies in Scotland born dependent on drugs since 2017 but does not reveal the annual data, to hide a reducing trend.

How do I know it’s a reducing trend?
His report in 2022, in the Express showed a total in the 4 years from 2017/18 to 2020/2021 of 800, falling from 249 to 173.
Take that 800 from his 8 year total of 1 501 and you find that there have been only 701 in the last 4 years, a 12% decline.
What would most interest would be to see the data for 2024/2025.

I don’t suppose any of the articles managed to mention the birth rate over that time thus allowing us to see the number of drug affected babies as a percentage of the total number of babies born in Scotland.
I know the total has been falling and in 2023 it was just shy of 46,000 babies born that year.
Just like yesterday and the complaints about the Caledonian Sleeper service.

Yep, as you say the leader of the fifth biggest party in Scotland, so really he should be given almost no media platform to spout his BritNat lies. I wonder what he’s been promised for lying so much and talking down Scotland for the Brit/English state..hmm.
