From STV yesterday:
A huge GP surgery and health centre, which will combine services located at nine different sites, is due to open within weeks in Glasgow’s East End. There will be three GP practices based at the new building in Duke Street – Forge Medical Practice, Drs McKenzie and Burns and Meadowpark Surgery – as well as other services.
The health and social care building is one of the largest of its kind in the UK, and it is hoped that patients will be able to access treatment by the end of January. When open, the Hub will provide services for children, adults and older people, addictions, justice, homelessness, sexual health and health improvement, with GP services, community pharmacy and dental services.
The facility will also provide community spaces including bookable rooms, a café and the relocated Parkhead library, which is operated by Glasgow Life.
Then:
Shettleston councillor Thomas Kerr, Conservative, said: “This new facility will help support patients right across the East End and has the potential to transform how we deliver healthcare to them. “All too often many of my constituents are frustrated that they cannot get a GP appointment or are struggling to access other vital healthcare facilities on their own doorstep.
“This will effectively be a one-stop shop for patients when it opens, and it must be fully resourced by the SNP government to ensure it delivers what East End communities expect.” Councillor Chris Cunningham, Glasgow City Council’s convener for health, care and caring, and older people, said: “The Parkhead Hub will be, without doubt, a fantastic community asset for the north-east of the city.
Note that the SNP council which has built the new centre is only mentioned in second place and is not identified?
What presence does the Conservative Party in Glasgow have?
There is no mention of the £34.2m Scottish Government funding of the project: https://www.gov.scot/publications/foi-202300390480/
There is, of course, no reference to the SNP Glasgow council picking up the remainder of the £67m tab: https://hubwestscotland.co.uk/new-67-million-health-and-social-care-hub-for-north-east-glasgow-backed-by-scottish-government/
Finally, what is the justification for such an investment? STV don’t bother but here it is.
From NHS Health Education England:

Surely of interest to BBC Scotland, unless there’s something too positive at SNP Glasgow and SNP Scotland in this major development.

“New £34m SNP Gov-funded multi-disciplinary GP and health centre opening in Glasgow, ignored by BBC Scotland and credited by STV to Conservative pressure on SNP council yet they have only 2 out of 85 councillors”
You obviously forgot to mention that the nicknames of the 2 Conservative councillors are ‘Godzilla’ and ‘King Kong’.

Really? Anything written on that?

Well does there need to be “anything written on that” if STV do indeed attribute this to being something they have credited to being “pressure applied” by a mere “2 conservative Councillors among a total of 85 councillors, 83 of which are from other parties”.
So they, the 2 Tory councillors , then cannot be mere mortals but instead are surely ‘giants among men’ like say one is Godzilla and the other one is King Kong surely.

Sorry to be pedantic, but it is my understanding that Thomas Kerr is no longer a Conservative but now a member of Reform.
