Labour councillor charged with domestic abuse…by Wimbledon Guardian, Enfield Independent, Penarth Times but BBC Scotland still working on making the headline too long to include ‘Labour’

Searched for BBC Stephen McCabe charged and got the above.

The BBC Scotland site below:

Struggling to catch up with the McCabe charge story but still hanging on to the Salmond not-a-charge, non-story?

Scotland’s media long-standing double standards on sex offences:

In 2021:

SNP MP accused of sexual harassment makes news. BBC Scotland have him. The Herald has him twice:

Tory MP actually sentenced following two assaults? BBC UK have him….no wait…..they’ve got the SNP MP again:

Maybe the Tory MP story is fake news? The BBC has responsibilities you know?

There’s no sign of a BBC report but the Guardian have him:

Wait, sorry, BBC Kent had him:

Spot the difference.

BBC Scotland news website :

February 2024 headline

Former SNP councillor charged with multiple sexual offences”

Then we read….this….

March 2024 (today) headline (6th story) via the BBC Scotland website (soon perhaps to disappear from their website)….

Ex-councillor jailed for having indecent images of children”

Guess which party the “Ex councillor” was from…..no…not the SNP as that would have been in the BBC’s headline….well he was an ex Labour councillor.

So the BBC team think it is compulsory to note the party name in their headline when tis the SNP….but no need to name the party when tis a Pro UK party….this is a regular behaviour we witness via the BBC website.

As too did these following ‘papers’ also note the former party name (as in him being an ex SNP Councillor) The Sun, The Daily Record, Daily Express, The Scotsman, The Courier, The Independent, SKY News, The Times, The Herald, The Daily Mail…..and also papers darn Sarf did too….as in the Slough Observer, Surrey Comet, Dorset Echo, The York Press and the Ely Standard……so #SNPBAD is a UK growing trend then.

So now the ex Labour councillor has been jailed for 28 months after admitting possessing indecent images of children.

But wait how did the press headline the news via this ex Labour councillor…….well….

The Herald “Disgraced former Clydebank Councillor Craig Edward Jailed” (no party name)

The Daily Record “Disgraced former West Dunbartonshire councillor jailed” (no party name)

So far the only reference to this ex Labour councillor via other papers was where he had been caught or snared via his offences but headlines did NOT yet again name his former party…i.e. Labour party.

But we are supposed to believe there is no ongoing vendetta via the media in promoting anything negative about the SNP…via anyone connected to the party both in the past and the present….in the press/media always, via their headlines, highlighting the party name i.e. SNP as in #SNPBAD…..while simultanously similar stories linked to Pro UK parties the same press and media omit their party name in the headlines when tis a #BAD story..…so not a conspiracy theory but an actual reality.

Bad apples….yep there is in all parties….but the public when passing news stands in shops and supermarkets and perhaps browsing the headlines (but not actually buying the paper) are left in NO doubt who the individual was formerly a politician for when tis the SNP…..but they would need to buy the paper and read the content of the story to establish which party they were with whenever it is a Pro UK #BAD politician (ex or current)…….that’s a not so subtle form of propaganda.

  1. Unionists started with now is not the time, given the election results they now say no. Now the lie and report lies without risk of challenge.

Thanks in many ways to the SNP and their incompetent selection of numpies.

Bring on 2026. Can you imagine how bad the BBC will be then.

    1. This is a nonsensical statement. Which SNP are the “ incompetent selection of numpties” ? You really need to list them and factually back up your current throwaway statement, if not, then it is just that, a throwaway statement only worthy of X (twitter)!!!

  2. John,

I tried to publish this TWICE to my political site on Facebook (11k members on a Private Group) but Fb police have taken it down both times and marked it “spam”

I have appealed there decision but it’s a waste of time as they are a law unto themselves.

    GRRRR!!!

  3. Admirably forensic piece again from you John.

BTW did you read the column in Saturday’s Herald about the Australian ferry? The repeated slurs on Scotland ferries therein were all familiar after reading your many articles on that subject showing the truth behind the MSM propaganda.

  4. Someone online had bookmarked something else relating to Stephen McCabe.

“Labour councillor Stephen McCabe last hit the headlines when he sent a letter to Michael Gove urging the Tory minister to bypass Holyrood”

Is there no end to this guy doing both the wrong and the worse thing ?

    Rhetorical Q obviously.

Seems he, McCabe, put country before party when he wrote to Michael Gove.

However the only problem with that was that he put another country, UK/England, before his own country Scotland.

(Also we know that with his party , Labour, they also put another country before Scotland , so I guess McCabe was also considering his own party too as well as another country , as in when he wrote to Michael Gove a Tory government minister).

So he actually wrote to a Tory government minister and asked him to act against the country that he, McCabe, was elected as a Scottish councillor, to represent a specific Scottish area in a Scottish council , where he was the ‘leader‘ of that Scottish council.

I mean come on there is low then there is him. (apparently clearly one of the lowest of the low, to include being charged with Domestic violence )

Imagine any English councillor in England acting against their own country ?

So the BBC are still operating a #WheeshtForLabour in their headlines on any #BAD related articles.

Mind you as most people refer to them as the ‘BBC’ , some may then forget that the first ‘B‘ in their title stands for ‘British‘ , which then helps you to understand :

Why they do what they do FOR all pro UK parties in Scotland

    And then also….

Why they do what they do TO parties like the SNP in Scotland.

As Alex Massie said “That’s their job”.
