Thanks to Paul Hutcheon I now know roughly how much is being made to all panellists as pundits in elections by TV channels

Here’s another joke, also not a HA HA one.

Nicola Sturgeon apparently was paid £25k by ITV for punditry on GE night.

Paul Hutcheon of the Daily Record told us that in a tweet where he included a picture of her , Ms Sturgeon, on a panel with ex Tory Chancellor George Osborne and also ex Labour MP Ed Balls , also now a ITV GMB part time presenter and he is also the husband of the current Labour Home Secretary Yvette Cooper.

Paul did however tell us that she , Ms Sturgeon, declared the cash which was why Paul then chose to reveal it as an amount in his tweet. So all up front then so where is the story here that Paul seems to wants to sensationalise ?

Paul neglected to tell us in his tweet what those other two panellists were paid, who I assume were also being paid for their punditry on GE night by ITV !

Another joke is that I have lost count in how many times Ruth Davidson has been on a panel on GE nights (plural) as a pundit yet never have I learnt how much she earned via a tweet or an article from a journalist from a Scottish newspaper.

So basically what Paul is saying is that this is #SNPBAD , as in Ms Sturgeon being on a panel on election night and getting paid for it while all others who have been on the same panels for the same purpose who have been either paid the same or more…………….

Well as far as Paul is concerned and also it seems other journalists too , apparently it appears that’s not something worth highlighting , politicising or indeed trying to suggest this is in some way wrong , as he Paul and his paper are clearly trying to do with this tweet and story , which Paul states is an “Exclusive” from the Daily Record who are also known as one of the client media of the Labour party.

Of course thanks to Paul Hutcheon I now know roughly how much is being made to all panellists as pundits in elections by TV channels , whether they be ex politicians or current ones, though I think the amounts being paid may not be equal for all of them as political pundits , as some may be getting paid far more than others.

I wonder what some of the Labour politicians who have been pundits on these panels on TV channels got paid ?

I say I wonder because as yet I have not seen any similar cheap and very obvious tactics being used by other Journalists and newspapers to try and make a shoddy attempt to expose such facts on what they, any Labour politicians, have been paid for punditry as a way to try and score a cheap political point against the SNP. (as Paul and his newspaper have tried to do in this instance).

I guess the gutter press aka the Daily Record, will always seek to remain in the depths they always sink to just to try and ‘play politics’ to try and gain an advantage for their favoured political party , as in the Labour party in Scotland.

BTW MSM Monitor noted Hutcheon had done this and he , MSM Monitor, tweeted in response to it:

“Of course she was paid. The same way Hutcheon is paid when he appears on BBC Scotland as a pundit. The difference is that we don’t know how much public cash he receives for his appearances. Now that would be news”

BTW how much is SKY News paying Ruth Davidson and Jess Philips in them both giving their punditry , together with Beth Rigby, on the SKY News political podcast that is called ” Electoral dysfunction” which started up before the GE and is still going.

I ask how much as I have , as yet , not seen a news story in any newspaper, or a tweet via a journalist, highlighting (politicising) this as being a major issue that we the public should know about.

Where apparently it should then reflect how we feel about both Davidson, Phillips and also a UK channel , SKY News , chumming up with two politicians from two different political parties to allow them to opine upon other parties and politicians.

The UK parliament Register of interests shows that for Baroness Davidson of Lundin Links she is remunerated for this SKY News podcast but the amount is not specified by them, it is just noted under ” Remunerated employment, office, profession etc” as being a “regular podcast for SKY News”. (is the amount that she is being paid a secret then ?)

Jess Phillips was noted in the UK parliament Register of interests as being paid by Sky UK Ltd :

“£8,364 presenting a SKY News Podcast for “1.5 hrs per week in March, April and May 2024”

Also she was paid £1,394 on 26 July 2024. Hours: 1 hr by SKY News, £1,938 for ” 5 hrs This is final payment for podcast appearances with Sky News in April, May, June.

Then she was paid £2,460 on: 1 October 2024. Hours: 2 hrs by SKY News (that last payment was noted as being paid “directly to a charity”).

Since Jess Phillips has now been appointed a government role in Starmer’s government , then she is no longer is a member of this SKY News podcast ‘team’.

However Jess Phillips external earnings (and Davidson’s too) via SKY News was and is not newsworthy for Paul Hutcheon or the Daily Record as in those who are often……………

#WheeshtForLabour and it seems also too often #WheeshtForTheTories too. (where Ruth Davidson is concerned anyway).
