NEW: A Labour MP has been told to ‘fact check first’ by members of the public after he falsely claimed there was a sewage leak in his constituency. Chris Murray had posted an image of what he believed to be a sewage leak at Portobello Beach in Edinburgh.
Keir is desperate to balance out the raw sewage discharges between England and Scotland but it’s not easy.

English water companies fined FOURTEEN THOUSAND times as much for illegal sewage discharges as those in Scotland
August 6th 2024, in the Guardian we read:
Thames, Yorkshire and Northumbrian Water will be fined a record £168m between them for a “catalogue of failure” over illegal sewage discharges into rivers and the sea after the industry regulator’s biggest ever investigation.
The water regulator for England and Wales, Ofwat, has proposed penalties of £104m for Thames, £47m for Yorkshire and £17m for Northumbrian for failing to manage their wastewater treatment works and networks, including their operation of storm overflows. It said it was the first of more crackdowns to come.
On 28 December 2023, the Scottish Environmental Protection Agency fined two companies for illegal discharges of sewage in 2023:
For a discharge of sewage effluent to the water environment, SEPA fined £600 each:
Sands Caravan and Camping Limited, Wester Ross
Robert Main Ellen, Muir of Ord
So, the usual arithmetic to make fair comparison.
£1 200 in Scotland, pro rata, would be £12 000 in England but for just those three companies, it was £168 000 000,
In 2020, Scottish Water was fined £19 000 for illegal sewage discharges into the Clyde. I can find no other such incident in recent years.

Is this who has replaced Tommy Sheppard , as the one who is now the MP for the constituency that I live in, and so is this how he, Murray, is going to act going forward.

Sorry this is just not good enough so perhaps instead of promoting fake news about his (and my) constituency and trying to shame it , could he instead start to act for the benefit of both his constituents and also the area he now (supposdley) represents as a Labour MP at WM.
Which I know may be impossible for him to do as clearly his voting record so far , has shown that he obviously puts (his) party before people (as in people in his constituency, especially pensioners and those being subjected to the now Labour two child cap – and also some of the rubbish some less wealthy people in his, Murray’s, constituency may have to suffer via Reeves’s rubbish budget last week)
Of course this links to his , Murray’s, ‘other role’ where he is a member of the Advisory Council for the Pro UK organisation ‘These Islands’ , who are also well known as those who love to promote many a #ScotlandIsSh*te propaganda piece just to try and gain a cheap and petty advantage for any other party who are in opposition to the SNP. (but mainly done to support the UK as a continued state).
Of course is this, as an example, just not the Labour party all over.
Where via them we are always subjected to them both talking sh*te and acting sh*te, pun fully intended.
I guess Labour think that only in them promoting lies can they then keep the seats they have won in the recent GE and also , they hope, win them a majority of seats in 2026 in the Scottish parliament election.
Time and ‘common sense’ will tell.

Could I also add that this is akin to Anas Sarwar during COP26 standing next to overflowing rubbish bins in Glasgow during a GMB strike of refuse workers at a time when international visitors to Glasgow would then think what an absolute ‘Sh*te-Hole’ Glasgow was.
Yet as a reward for promoting Glasgow as a ‘Sh*te-Hole’ during COP26 the residents of Glasgow , various parts of, then decided to thank Labour in electing 6 new Labour MP’s in the 2024 GE.

I am Donald ducked if I know , as seems that in Labour colluding with a (Labour friendly) Trade Union in showing the WORLD that #GlasgowIsBad but also showing it to be , via overflowing bins, that it was also a case of #GlasgowTheDirtyCity at a time when all eyes would be on Glasgow in COP26 , well some Glasgow residents in 2024 all obviously thought ‘Pride in one’s city be damned’ as let us instead , once again, ‘fall for Labour’s lies’. (has buyers remorse set in yet ?).
Mind you the BBC and other media had a fair amount of input also into showing Glasgow during COP26 in the worse possible light.

I may be wrong in recollecting the same photo on HMS James Cook’s website and thinking eh ? – Any complaint would result in the now traditional BBCS response of ‘FU you’re wrong’ and that’s how it is – Sewage is not pink and does not sink to the bottom – Perhaps Chris Murray, given his tall stature, might volunteer to be held by the ankles and used as a dip-stick rather than being held up to public ‘ridicule’ for being a total dipstick…. There are numerous sewers and tanks which may be used to prove his assertion..
Given lanky Murray is Margaret Curran’s son, she did him n favours in being promoted if this was her advice…

Not that I’ve made a habit of searching for it, but I’ve never seen sewage that colour before. Given the colour,maybe it’s the result of Labour hemorrhaging in the polls?

Another grifter lying about Scotland, what the heck do they want! I know, they want Scotland to be the basket case it was under English rule and back to the days of English Labour rule at Holyrood, when things were sh*te for a lot more people on their watch.
These jobsworths, a parcel of rogues, lying about Scotland so they can take full control of Scotland again via Holyrood and Westminster.
People better make sure those non the wiser are informed about Labcons’ legacy and vote for only independence parties in 2026, or be sure to have your water sold off, NHS scrapped, free prescriptions scrapped, student tuition fees enforced, and energy prices hiked even higher in Scotland while they siphon away more oil, and take all renewables etc from Scotland as a freebie, (Starmer likes his freebies) and essential workers striking long term. Not something I want to see, not what Scotland needs.
