Thanks to Dottie for alerting me to this.
Channel 4 News tonight had a special on County Lines gangs.
From Police Scotland in 2019:
The charity Crime-stoppers is today 14th January 2019 launching a campaign to highlight the pain and suffering that criminals from English cities are inflicting on vulnerable people in Scotland’s rural and coastal towns. The campaign aims to raise awareness of County Lines, which is when criminals from major cities such as Liverpool, Manchester, London and Birmingham are expanding their drug networks to other areas, bringing with it serious criminal behaviour such as violence, exploitation and abuse. The term County Lines refers to the use of a single telephone number to order drugs, operated from outside the local area. This is having a massive impact on rural communities and also on vulnerable children and adults who are being recruited in cities such as Manchester and Liverpool.1
There are no such gangs based in Scottish cities yet tonight Channel 4 located their report in Glasgow, interviewed victims with Scottish accents, did not once mention England or any English city and referred to contacting the Scottish Government despite it having no jurisdiction in English cities.
At least five years since this plague of extreme violence, child abuse, people trafficking and drug deaths resulting from an increased flow of cheaper yet more powerful drugs into small town and rural Scotland, and Channel 4 News has not had the gumption to investigate the source of the plague in an English city.
The association has now been made between County Lines gangs and Scotland is a way which inverts the true relationship between the English perpetrators and Scottish victims.
A former STV reporter, Kathryn Samson, knows better but is already absorbed in that culture dismissive of Scotland.

Kathryn Samson appears to be on a mission in her new role, where as yet, I have failed to hear any report from her , as the new supposed ‘Scottish’ correspondent for Channel 4 news, that is positive and that does not involve the ultimate conclusion being that the SNP are #BAD.
She, like others, takes the money and cares not for the consequences as her mission, which she chose to accept in her new role, was to ensure that Scotland and it’s current government would not be shown in a positive light to the rest of the UK on this English dominated news programme that pretends, like the BBC, that it provides all UK news for all nations within the UK.
Bottom line is Channel 4 news is no different to other channels as they too adopt the pro UK position, so like all other English dominated channels and their news programmes, we will see that as long as Scotland is governed by the SNP then it, as a country, and also the SNP, can never be given a positive, fair and non biased hearing from any UK MSM.
Believe me she was also not that great , as a political reporter, when she was with STV News either. (obviously as they , STV, too were also compromised by a editorial line biased against the SNP and Scottish independence).

O/T From the House of Commons session on Scottish questions, October 30:

From David Mundell (Dumfriesshire, Clydesdale and Tweeddale) (Conservative): ‘Does the Secretary of State share my anger and disappointment that the SNP Scottish Government dogmatically continue to block new nuclear developments in Scotland, depriving my constituency of important jobs and economic prospects? What can he do through the industrial strategy to ensure that we at least take advantage of decommissioning and supply chain opportunities?’ (My emphasis)
Ian Murray (Secretary of State for Scotland) (Labour): ‘I have never known the right hon. Gentleman to be angry or disappointed, but I share his anger and disappointment. This Government back our industry. Nuclear will be a major part of the energy mix going forward, and we need to ensure that we have the right balance. GB Energy has been set up, and the related Bill passed Third Reading yesterday. I am disappointed that neither he nor the SNP voted for it, but that is the vehicle through which we will take these issues forward.’
For the Scottish Greens’ and other voters opposed to nuclear power to note, if a Unionist party or Unionist coalition wins power in Holyrood in 2026, the likelihood that we will have new nuclear power plants in Scotland increases – a commitment to build a new major nuclear power station and/or locate first generation small modular nuclear reactors here – regardless of Scotland’s strategic energy needs.
There is a LOT at stake in 2026: I wish I was confident that the disparate parts of the pro-independence political spectrum were now acting in ways that acknowledge a common cause in preventing the range and scale of impact that Unionist power exercised in Holyrood would be able to make in even one parliamentary session.

“‘I have never known the right hon. Gentleman to be angry or disappointed”
Of course Ian Murray has never heard Mundell be “angry or disappointed” before as formerly Mundell’s Tory party were in charge in the UK and he, Mundell, was nothing more than just a ‘YES’ man to his colleagues at WM .
Also that phrase “Does the Secretary of State share my” and also ” Does the Secretary of State agree with me” was often spoken by Ian Murray at Scottish Q’s when he was the Shadow SOS for Scotland and he would state this to Alister Jack to ask that he, Jack, “share” or “agree” with something that was just another excuse to say #SNPBAD.
On a positive note it was good of Mundell to highlight that the “SNP” or as he put it “the SNP Scottish government” were opposed to Nuclear development in that he said it was the SNP who were “blocking new nuclear developments in Scotland”.
Mundell also has a brass neck in stating that the “SNP has deprived his constituency of important jobs and economic prospects” when his Tory party and he too orchestrated and implemented a Brexit that imposed a huge economic damage to jobs and economic prospects in the whole of Scotland.
(Plus he , Mundell, was responsible as the post Brexit UK Trade Envoy for a terrible deal with New Zealand which I think many in his constituency who were farmers would view , as a deal, one that was most damaging for them as farmers as it favoured New Zealand far more than Mundell’s supposed beloved UK and it’s farmers).
Also was there not some “loss of jobs” incurred in Mundell’s own constituency with Youngs’s seafood relocating to England in 2018 when it was reported by some of the media that the Scottish government was to blame for what was in effect a private company’s decision to close down its plant and make hundreds of Scottish workers redundant.
However it actually turned out that the company, Young’s Seafoods, had an incentive to move the jobs down to the east coast of England (in Grimsby) – namely in them being given £1.3m in UK government cash to do so.
(Tory government cash and that was when David Mundell was also the SOS for Scotland- I wonder if Ian Murray “shared the anger and disappointment of the workers at that Scottish factory at being treated so badly by Mundell’s Tory party and also in David Mundell failing to keep these jobs in Scotland as both the constituency MP and also as the so called SOS for Scotland”).
In fact it was reported that David Mundell, whose administration oversaw the awarding of the grant which stripped over 1000 jobs away from Scotland, was an action that seemingly was done entirely by prior design, as he Mundell was quoted as saying “It was devastating news but expected news”.
As to Murray stating that ” Nuclear will be a major part of the energy mix” and so I suppose as per Scotland can like it or lump it as Labour , as UK government, are in charge of Scotland and not the Scottish government as elected by Scotland. (same treatment towards Scotland happened when the Tories were formerly the UK government)
Well that’s how we are treated by them, as in by both Labour and the Tories, with their WM servants being currently Ian Murray & formerly David Mundell , as SOS for Scotland , who do their WM masters bidding even if it is against most of what we in Scotland oppose.
So here’s a Q “Does the rest of Scotland share my anger and disappointment that Labour, and their so called SOS for Scotland, are doing to Scotland exactly what the Tories also did when they were in charge as the former UK government, and that is to ignore what we need and want in Scotland and instead pursue what is best for them as a UK government”.
Labour UK government no change from the previous Tory government. (or from the previous Tory SOS for Scotland).
Now we have to witness a new ‘tag UK team’ at WM’s Scottish Q’s where Ian Murray as the new SOS for Scotland gets to respond to Mundell, a former SOS for Scotland, asking Murray to agree with him that the SNP are not just bad but very very #BAD.
I think we all know who it is between the SNP, Mundell and Ian Murray who are the really #BAD ones for Scotland (clue it is not the SNP but it is a jointly the other two).

Folks in England as well as Scotland are majority anti-nuclear, and the State of a Secretary for Greggs knows it full well….
How many extra wind generators have to be shut down to sate Murray and Mundell’s faux anger ? That is the question Scots have to ask louder and louder….

O/T Did others spot this highlighted on X by the estimable MSM Monitor?

How LOW is the leadership of the British Labour Party willing to sink in its lies and deceit?
And can BBC Scotland get anymore useless – any more biased – as it fails again to hold a Westminster government minister to account regarding their dealings towards Scotland, even on such a blatant misrepresentation of facts?

BBC Scotland is doing EXACTLY what it is required to do. It’s very useful to the unionist cause.

“How LOW is the leadership of the British Labour Party willing to sink in its lies and deceit” ?
Is the answer “Gutter level” and even lower ?
She gets to say that because none of the UK media will challenge her on it.
Labour will always go “lower” but we and the SNP are supposed to then ‘go higher’ well nope that does not work for me as that as a tactic fails to expose their, Labour’s, “lies and deceit”.

Hate to disagree John but must – Having previously slammed Kathryn Samson for her biased reporting, it is a tad unnerving to admit that on this occasion she and C4 got the balance about right even if Scotland being featured puzzled for the first minute and a half.
Only in the lead up to the interview with Sharon Mciver of “Child criminal exploitation at Action for Children” (based in Glasgow) did the reason begin to clarify, but I do agree that reluctance to point fingers at cities in England where most of the majority of these ‘county lines’ originate was a touch obvious – Yet the clue is in the name “County Lines”, we’re several generations on from referring to counties.
But let’s not kid ourselves it is only English perpetrators involved in this scandal – There will be a few native drug smuggling gangs, even if PS do appear to be a bit more proactive in shutting down activities than the understaffed Police in England who have been hard for years to shut them down…
Gave a wry smile at the final paragraph of Kathryn’s synopsis – ” A Home Office spokesperson told us, “We are determined to stop evil criminal gangs from exploiting and luring young people into crime and drugs. The government committed in their manifesto to introducing a new offence to tackle child criminal exploitation.” ” – A NEW offence to add to all the others these crims ignore….. Myopic to say the least…
