From the Scottish Government’s Reinforced Autoclaved Aerated Concrete (RAAC): Cross Sector Working Group minutes – May 2024, published today:
Given the number of social housing properties across Scotland (c625,000) the number found to contain RAAC was considered to be low 1
How many RAAC properties?
As of March 29, 2024, there are 1,994 homes in Scotland that have been confirmed to contain reinforced autoclaved aerated concrete (RAAC). 8,311 homes are currently under investigation. 2
So, between 0.32% and 1.6% of Scotland’s social housing has RAAC in it.

Of course, the media will go for the vox pop approach: ‘I’m terrified by house will collapse on top of us’, says single mum.

BBC and the unionist media miss out ( by design) one important point relating to RAAC. This from The Institute Of Structural Engineers…https://www.istructe.org/resources/news/istructe-statement-reinforced-autoclaved-aerated-c/……”This guidance provides identification and remediation solutions for Reinforced Autoclaved Aerated Concrete (RAAC) planks. RAAC has been used in building structures in the UK and Europe since the late 1950’s, most commonly as precast roof panels in flat roof construction, but in the 1990s structural deficiencies became apparent.”….NOTE THE IMPORTANT DATES 1950’s AND POSSIBLY EVEN MORE IMPORTANTLY 1990’s when it first came to light that this material was beginning to FAIL…ALL under British Tory/Labour Westminster governments….NOT SNP SCOTTISH GOVERNMENT!!! Will Sarwar admit this? will the msm inform their readers? will the bbc blame Labour and Tory administrations for something that they are guilty of before SNP became the Scottish Government? NO! They will keep peddling misinformation or deliberately MISS OUT information to keep the BritishLabour party in Scotland’s message of badsnp when in fact it has always been bad BritishLabour in Scotland…all in all very lazy journalism!!!

It’s not lazy journalism rather than pattern propaganda reliant on their presentation becoming the fact due to the passage of time.
However a minor correction – RAAC planks were first promoted as a roof/floor solution in the late 1960s, about 20 years before the balloon went up over water penetration – The planks left the manufacturer with a paint coat, so even then they knew of the problem – Cement dust you can miss, paint flecks you can’t..
The only disasters thus far have been in England, but as with Grenfell, there has to be a Scottish equivalent somehow…

Householders at Balnagask Aberdeen are being offered new affordable houses at the Bridge of Don. If they want them. Built with Scottish Gov funding.
Scottish Gov building 7,000 affordable houses a year. 17,000 built by house builders. 50,000+ people die, freeing up houses. If asylum seekers were allowed to work. They could be building houses. Brexit building materials have gone up a third.
