Is Police Scotland’s only armoured car which has LAIN in storage, like the one in tiny Guernsey, there because all the senior staff are from places where they get riots?

The Daily Record today, challenged from grammar to politics.

Police Scotland (5.4 million population who might riot) bought that one armoured car 2 years ago while the Island of Guernsey (64 thousand population!)12 years ago:

Guernsey Police’s purchase of an armoured Land Rover had the full backing of the Home Department, its minister has revealed. Deputy Geoff Mahy, who is standing down from the States in April, said it had been agreed 15 months ago as part of upgrades to the force’s firearms unit.

He said: “The police do not shape the undesirable changes of society. “However, it is important if we are going to protect our community that we are best prepared.”

Deputy Mahy said the past decade had seen an increase in the number of “lone shooter” incidents in the UK and further afield. He said: “Whilst Guernsey remains a predominantly safe place to live, it is not divorced from equal levels of mental health, domestic violence and alcohol abuse experienced elsewhere.

“It is equally naive to consider that Guernsey is not totally free from any terrorist threat, neither should the island present itself as a ‘soft target’ should any group or individual seek to make statement by this means of action.”

So, the Conservative Government’s Home Office has been pushing this purchase for years, and Police Scotland gave in only two years ago?

Wonder why?

All of the senior staff are more used to listening to Suella Braverman and her Tory predecessors than to the Scottish Government. Also, all of them come from places that have had large-scale urban riots in recent years.

Further, 10 reasons why Scotland does not need the armoured car:

I know we have lots of racists and Islamophobes in Scotland. I know there was an attack on Glasgow Airport in 2007. That was 17 years ago, it’s worth remembering. I know two young Scots went to join ISIS. It was only 2 though out of 600 Britons. I know a Glasgow Muslim shopkeeper was murdered but that was by an English Muslim. If I’ve missed something out, please add it below.

First, see this extract from a Scottish Government research survey in 2011

‘In addition, Hussain and Miller (2004) argue that Muslims in Scotland are more likely to identify themselves as Scottish than Muslims in England are to identify as English (Hussain and Miller 2004, 2006). In their study, comparing experiences of Islamophobia and Anglophobia in Scotland, Hussain and Miller established that the Muslims interviewed found it very easy to identify with Scotland. They suggest this could be explained partly because their religious identity is seen as cultural and not territorial. This finding is supported by research conducted by Masud (2005) into the experiences of Muslims across Britain after the London bombings in 2005. In this research conducted across Scotland 27“it was widely acknowledged and appreciated that compared with other parts of the country, especially England, Scotland was a tolerant place” (Masud 2005).’

Second, remember the Glasgow Celtic, Green Brigade protest against Israel’s treatment of the Palestinians and the crowdfunding which raised thousands to pay for sporting facilities in Palestine? People in the Arab world and Islamic people in England know about this.

Third, 100 000 people marched in Glasgow in 2003 against the Iraq war. Glasgow’s Islamic population saw this. The Herald newspaper exposed many of the atrocities committed by the Coalition there.

Fourth, 1.8% of the prison population in Scotland is Muslim. This is broadly in proportion to the 1.45% of Scottish population which is Muslim, and in significant contrast to the very large figure of 13% for Muslim prisoners in England and Wales.

Fifth, notably, although Pakistanis and Bangladeshis are still over-represented in more deprived areas of Scotland, they are less likely to be living in such areas in Scotland than they are in England.

Sixth, Muslims in Scotland are fast becoming a highly-educated population – currently exceeding the total population figure for ‘degree level and above’ education by 10 percentage points.

Seventh, almost 1 in 3 (31%) of the Muslim population is ‘economically active’ full-time – whether as an employee, or self-employed. For the population as-a-whole, the figure is 51%. It is notable that both of these percentages are higher than the corresponding figures for England and Wales which are 19.8% for Muslims and 34.9% for the overall population

Eighth, comparisons with the Muslim population in England and Wales suggest that Muslims in Scotland are somewhat socio-economically better off.

Tenth, in 2017, Transport Minister Humza Yousaf, MSP for Glasgow Pollok, first took his oath of allegiance in English and then in Urdu in the Scottish Parliament. Not something you can imagine in France.

‘Good community relations mean young Muslims in Scotland eschew extremism Unlike in England, there is mutual respect between the Scottish government, the Muslim communities and the police’

  1. There really has to be a public debate about the kind of hardware Police Scotland has.

Policing is, ideally, undertaken with public consent – we agree to give a group of people some powers in return for maintaining public order and safety. The great majority of the population is law abiding and most people look out for the safety and well being of others. So, community policing is suitable for most things. And that means unarmed officers wearing uniforms which identify whom they are but are not intimidating as most of such military style clothing is.

Of course, there are some violent people about, but by no stretch of the imagination are the numbers as much as our appalling media make out. So, police officers do need some training in how to manage any occurrences of violence and how to defend themselves. There are ways of doing this which minimise the risk of injury to officers and to perpetrators (who, in a fair proportion of cases have been bevvying). Large scale civic disorder in Scotland is pretty rare and a fair proportion of it is from groups with associations, often tenuous, with Rangers FC. But, again there are techniques and strategies for dealing with this. We do not need an armoured car.

When such excessive technology is available, there is a tendency to use it and this overreaction leads to a breakdown in the consent relationship.

  2. …”the full backing of the Home Department” – This seems to echo a dire Empirical mindset… The so-called UK echoes Empirical times; however, after Scotland regains its independent place in the world, the UK will exist only in history.

  3. Scotland is being crowded with english people in top positions of authority Police Scotland , Universities, NHS Scotland , Local authorities , Armed forces , Schools and transportation , its planned , its not just a case of the best person for the job , these english people are being lined up for these jobs in advance and worryingly Police Scotland being controlled by english people means that when push comes to shove and westminster tells the Scottish police to crack down on a Scottish independence majority these english people in charge of Police Scotland will do what they are told by englands westminster and use heavy handed violent tactics to suppress our freedom , its what england has always done history confirms it , its like having the red coats sent here to Scotland all over again .

    2. Totally agree and follows the English Colonialist ‘textbook Colony control’.

‘labour’ in the decades of power in Scotland and England, have ensured this happens.

That the SNP failed to ensure Scots are in such position of power and control IN OUR OWN NATION, is abysmal.

You don’t roll-over while foreigners take total control of everything in/around your Nation.

What the hell have the SNP been doing.

Oust these FOREIGNERS and “send them back to their own country”!

They’re good at doing that to ‘FOREIGNERS’ – they’re FOREIGN to us!

It’s not hard to understand why the tactics of Police ‘scotland’ have deteriorated to ‘beating peaceful demonstrators with batons, using threatening behaviour towards a ‘National’ Journalist etc’!

Complaints about assaults ON SCOTS are dismissed BY ENGLISH in the roles of putting in place, “the ok to attack demonstrators dogma”.

Why don’t they do so at the heinous OO marches of hate?!

Scots need to wake up to the fact that

‘the strangling English Shackles are tightening’!

  4. Guernsey is full of millionaires. UK tax evaders. There is plenty of cash to afford a redundant armoured car to hang about. Instead of Scotland paying £Billions of wasted cash on Trident and redundant weaponry. Scottish Police have plenty of spare cash to waste on show trials and bankrupt football teams. Filling their boots.

The Masonics. Led by Royalty. Plenty cash to waste and splash, on the military and Defence. Fake uniforms. They seek to serve themselves.

The Interference in the Scottish Criminal Justice system by Westminster unionists. Exploiting Scottish taxpayers revenues which are wasted. Many police recruits have been in the army. PTSD affecting mental health issues and not supported. Or rooted out to other duties or occupations. Pension rights to go the whole distance.

UK The highest prison population in the EU. Neurodiverse without proper support. People with addiction problems. They should be in total abstinence rehab to get well. No repeat offending. Crime associated with alcohol and drugs.

Muslims 2% of the Scottish population. They do not drink or drug. The re healthier, happier and more law abiding. No terrorists in Scotland. A minute few come from the South.
