Many thanks to Dottie for alerting me to this.
BBC Radio Good Mourning Scotland this morning, about the allegedly high cost of full nursery care in Scotland, put it at £167 per week.
As ever no context such as the Guardian report today:
Parents can expect to spend more than £1,000 per child for care over the school summer holidays, according to research.
A survey by the children’s charity Coram found that British families will be paying, on average, £1,049 for summer childcare for children aged from four to 14 – £635 more than they would pay for six weeks of after-school childcare during term time.
The figure is based on six weeks of holiday childcare at £175 a week – the average national cost, according to Coram’s survey. Parents in the south-east of England outside London are having to pay £216 a week, and those in [Labour] Wales £209 a week, where childcare costs have risen by 15% in a year.

The BBC don’t have to lie (at least not all the time) they are just very adept at shovelling the shit in the Scottish Governments direction making people believe we live in a hell hole of the SNP’s making. That is their modus operandi to preserve the Union at all costs (and of course not least their own future as well).

I’m not aware that too many parents in Scotland pay anything for childcare during school holidays periods. The nurseries attached to schools here are open every week of the year – unlike those in England which close during school holidays.
