  1. Strange is it not that the SG never gets credit for the affordable/social homes it has built. How much worse would the situation be if those houses had not been built?

No mention either of the ending of right to buy for these new builtbhouses for socially rent that ensures they will be available for social rent for some time to come.

The article in the Herald today was its usual mish-mash of time scales that make it difficult, if not impossible, to follow. As usual the contribution from the SG Minister comes at the end long after you have given up reading the article.

  2. Sorry to repeat what I have already said but the Scot Gov needs desperately now to vigorously attack the media that is constantly misrepresenting life in Scotland.

  3. John, it’s by time you produced a book on all of this. Speak to Callum at Luath. Could be out before the Scottish elections. Maybe a compilation of good well researched essays possibly with others. It could, I think, prove to be very influential. It is certainly necessary.

      1. there are still a lot of book readers out there, John. Blogs are fine up to a point. But a lot of folk still like more substantial literature in book form. You are a good writer and researcher so I am sure you would get a good response. You have a lot of followers here. It would be interesting to hear what they thought.

If you think it is a good idea and maybe even want to publish it yourself, I would be happy to help with the production of it. I used to work with Alasdair Gray producing his books. So I’m no bad at that sort of thing.

I am positive you would write something important and interesting.

          1. well, that’s you got yer title, ye cannae stop now. 🙂

I’m still a bit traumatized after the election, but it amazes me from the feedback on the doors how many people believe the Scottish government have wrecked Scotland. I expect that narrative to get stronger as we head for the Scottish elections. You always point out, with the research to prove it that, mostly, the opposite is true.

That is the strong message that you put forward in your writings. I think bringing it together in one place at the right time could be powerful. God knows, we need that more than ever now. Please do think about it. Ye’ve sold wan already.
