If a Scottish County Lines drugs gangster cuckooed the vulnerable in England would the headline say where he is from?

It had to happen. A Glasgow-based County Lines gangster makes the headlines in the Northants Telegraph, on the 9th of May 2024:

A man found trying to hide from police in a Corby flat that had been ‘cuckooed’ has been jailed for drug-dealing.

Glaswegian Rudy Kwatabyala has a long history of crime, with 81 offences on his record. He said he had been drawn to Corby after a relationship breakdown and to pay off a drug debt of £20,000.

Police had been called to a flat in Chaucer Close after a report of cuckooing – where drug pushers take over the property of a vulnerable person and use it for dealing – in November last year.

November, last year!? 5-6 months? Police Scotland could surely beat that?

Anyhow, to my knowledge this is a first. A County Lines gangster from Scotland operating in England. The local MP will be calling for closed borders.

At the last count, Police Scotland had 55 County Lines gang groups operating in Scotland and all from England. BBC Scotland have reported on the matter as recently as 2021 but failed to mention England. The local press and the tabloids do cover this but BBC Scotland, ITV, the Herald and the Scotsman smell danger for the rep of the Union and stay well clear.

  1. Yep, there is no way they would inform the people of Scotland about English county drugs lines. Really in fact theere shoudl be warnings out because the public is at risk especially vulnerable people in our country, from English drugs gangs, people should know what to look out for and report anything suspicious. I can tell the dealers a mile off in our part of Edinburgh, you’d think the cops would be keeping a look out for them as well!

  2. I drive daily in England and I hear daily on BBC radio Cumbria about the drug gangs, I also see daily the police cars blocking in vans on the motorway for I presume drugs, I have also seen armed police waiting at the services at Abington and johnstonebridge for the , I assume the drug gangs heading north yet, none of this is broadcast on any scottish media. I’ll leave that to your discretion
