Well, for two of those, not so much you’d be rolling out the capital investment on the back of it, but an independent Scotland’s £21 billion in just one year? How many ferries do you want?
The Extra-regio stuff? Scottish oil and gas?
Finally, England went from a £40 billion deficit in 2019 to a £10 billion surplus in 2020?
How?
England had a trade deficit until the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, where in 2020 it moved into a trade surplus. This was driven by a £31.0 billion (20.2%) fall in total imports to London from 2019 into 2020, while exports from London fell by a lesser £7.7 billion (4.3%).
What were they importing that they didn’t need that much? I remember no famine.

Looking at that ‘news’ page with stories about Waitrose vouchers and such things, we could be forgiven for wondering why the heck we don’t all move away to er, England where there must be sunlit uplands? I mean how bad can Scotland get, jeez.
I presume the ‘battery farm’ story is about animal torture. I recently had to write to ciwf (compassion in world farming) where I donate to help reduce battery farms etc. They sent out a campaign letter about the billions of animals kept in dreadful conditions in different parts of the ‘uk’, but specifically they took the ‘welcome to Scotland’ signage, adding the words underneath it, saying ‘where millions of animals’ are kept caged in cruel factory farms. I took umbridge at the signage because it was using an actual sign that people see at the border, in a very negative way.
I told them so, but excuses were made as usual.
Also watched a YouTuber from England who does videos about geology, mostly in Scotland yep.
One of his subscribers asked a question about Lochranza, in Arran. YouTuber replied with, good luck getting there with the state of the ferries these days. Sigh.
Watched YouTube re Stephen Flynn, yesterday calling for immediate ceasefire and stopping weapons to Israel. I commented, because the trolling and anti SNP and ignorance in the comments was terrible, it’s an international news channel, so the misinformation about Scotland is seen by many who have no clue about there even being a parliament in Scotland. The negativity about Flynn and the SNP from BritNats is quite something. There were plenty of praises for Flynn as well though, which is when the anti Scottish trolls appeared in force. Sigh.

“been found to have breached the MSPs code of conduct“…and thus….
“The Scottish Parliamentary Corporate Body (SPCB) published its findings on Thursday”.
“Holyrood’s standards committee will now decide if he should be sanctioned”…..and…
Of course in this story on BBC Scotland’s politics page we also had contributions (aka partisan opinions) from Craig Hoy & Jackie Baillie MSP’s from opposing parties who cannot just wait to see what is decided via the ‘Holyrood Standards Committee’ as basically as far as they are both concerned well……(Guilty and thus an ‘off with his head’ vibe must ensue)
Craig Hoy says “He (Mathieson) must resign as an MSP now”….then…..
Jackie Baillie said “Appropriate action must be taken against Mr Matheson.” (which I assume means the same action as Hoy demands…… though for good (bad) measure she also drags in the SNP and FM by saying “”The fact is that Humza Yousaf and senior ministers were complicit in Michael Matheson’s attempt to mislead the parliament”…….
Meanwhile we all know the scandal and real injustice of what has and is going down with both of their respective HQ’s at WM.
Starmer- Hoyle- Gaza vote…..where reported that “there will be no vote on referring Starmer to Commons Privilege Committee over the Gaza ceasefire debate”
(And to use Baillie’s own words above…….Jackie Baillie and other Labour politicians knows that ‘Starmer and other senior Labour MP’s were complicit in Lindsay Hoyle & Starmer’s attempt to mislead the parliament”)
Sunak – Tory Donor- no intention of handing back donation from person who said an opposition MP “should be shot”…….
(Craig Hoyle knows that no will “resign” for the Tory donor incident and the subsequent poor handling and inadequate and weak response/reaction from Tory HQ and their PM on this shocking and scandalous matter……..or indeed the many Tory ministers who have been accused of breaching the ministerial code and were backed up by respective Tory PM’s….indeed in 2023 former PM Boris Johnson was reported to have “committed a “clear breach” of the ministerial code by not clearing a new role writing a column for the Daily Mail with the parliamentary authorities”.….. ..”The committee that vets ex-ministers’ appointments says he informed them only half an hour before the news emerged”……”the Ministerial code states that ministers must ensure that no new appointments are announced, or taken up, before the committee has been able to provide its advice”.)……..however the result of this was that “No action will be taken against Boris Johnson over his “clear breach” of rules governing jobs for ex-ministers, the government has said“…..
Meanwhile …..Tory MSP Craig Hoy states on Michael Mathieson that “He must also confirm that he will not take a penny of his ministerial severance pay given what the report has found”……that is the unspoken yet clearly followed…..and dictated by a Tory hypocrite……….(and Labour one too a La Baillie)…..
Rules for some (SNP) and rules for others (Tories…and Labour too)…..that somehow we the public are expected to support and endorse…..and be expected to do this via us all voting for their parties instead of another (SNP)……irrespective of all of the evidence we see, hear and read upon their, Pro UK parties, many many shady (dark) manoeuvres that go unpunished…….via the Pro UK stitch up.

Hi Bob….when I go into BBC News website I click on ‘Scotland’ then you have various options that includes ‘Scotland Politics’ and other options under Scotland page…….BTW Michael Mathieson is still the third story on that page this morning……

That’s interesting, you see is what I used to see.
Here on the eastern side of Europe, under NEWS Scotland there are only Home, News, Sport, Business, Innovation, Culture, Travel, Earth, Video and Live sections now visible from the main Scotland page… There is no sign of the Mathieson article anywhere, and I scrolled right down and checked all 12 pages of history….
Checked the other 3 regions and it’s the same variant.
It would appear the BBC now host two website versions, one for UK based IPs and everybody else gets the ‘sanitised’ version…
The propagandists must be worried…

O/T apologies (again)
On Channel 4 News Martin Forde QC , was being interviewed . and he stated that there was “an air of hypocrisy” when it was put to him by the interviewer that “Labour had come out to express their revulsion and were supportive of Diane Abbot re comments made by the Tory donor Frank Hester”
Martin Forde was the person who was commissioned by Keir Starmer to write a report on allegations of bullying, racism and sexism within the Labour party….which post the report being released he, Forde, stated in March 2023 that the Labour party had failed to engage with the findings in his report…..as in the Channel 4 interview he , Forde, stated that that some people felt that the party was “not coping and also not dealing fairly with anti black racism”.
I also read that an email has now been recently issued to Labour members that stated “The Tory party’s biggest donor Frank Hester has been exposed for making racist comments. We’re fuming £10 million from this man and they’re not giving it back”….then they go on to say “unlike the Tories our campaigns rely on small donations ….that’s why we are asking you today if you can chip in to our General election campaign”……(my bold text via this email to emphasise a lie).
So basically Labour are attempting to raise their GE party coffers on the back off an MP that they removed the whip from as she currently is now no longer a Labour MP as she is now an independent….because of the Labour party.
And why was this ?….well it was because of their one and only supposed significant big no no…… that is in anyone that they view as making what they consider to be an anti Semitic comment which was the accusation made against Diane Abbot ! (The Independent had an article on this email where Diane Abbot also accused them, Labour, of hypocrisy).
However we all know that Labour as a political party does not just rely on “small donations” as we know that various members of the shadow cabinet, a Labour Mayor and Keir Starmer himself have all received large donations (thousands) from a Private Healthcare company….and they also receive funding from various Trade Unions via the members contributions……as well as money from pro Israel donors including Labour Friends of Israel …….however the real hypocrisy here is their defending Diane Abbot who they threw out of their party….and now they seem to be attempting to cash in on a racist incident ,involving a Tory donor, in them asking for donations on the back of this racist incident against an ex Labour MP that they themselves threw out of the party…….as if they themselves are free from such accusations being made upon their party…..read the Forde report to see that is NOT the case.
Plus there is a constant purge of any Labour party member, including political elected members, (also includes the purging of any Jewish left wing socialists BTW) deemed to be too left wing or too much the type of person who fails to adhere to what Labour HQ state is the party’s position on anything….as in no one within Labour can be “their own man” (as per the quote pre election from Michael shanks but who post his election has been anything but if you check out his voting record and too his concurrence with the Party at HQ’s position on anything)……………..as you either do what you are told or you are out (in the cold)!
BTW it was reported two days ago that she, Diane Abbot , could have the Labour whip back if she agreed to attend a …..anti Semitism course…which , it was reported, she has refused.
I think before Labour HQ accuse the Tories of anything they need to first look at themselves and perhaps think about getting their ‘own house in order’ before they condemn and accuse others…..alas that is not the way Labour under Keir Starmer operate……which is why many of us shake our heads when we see them try to present themselves as though distinct and better than other political parties….alas their actions and words contradict that very much false front that they, as a party, choose to promote themselves as being…..as many voters have commented that they do not know what Labour really stand for as they cannot separate much of the policies they promote from the ones the Tories have already implemented……and too the position Labour , under Starmer, often adopts and too supports that is far too similar and supportive of the Tory party’s position….on most issues/matters…….
Apologies for long read…but I am so incensed by them, Labour, and the client media who are seemingly so very very desperate to gain them, Labour, votes in Scotland at the expense of the SNP by presenting them as the best option for Scotland…when the (exact) opposite is the case….plus…..
Where was the UK widespread debate and condemnation of the Facebook post below in a extremely serious threat made to Nicola Sturgeon, when FM, and also to others in the party, from someone who was then subsequently found guilty and then jailed for stating:
“Over the last three years serious people, who feel the abuse to the electorate by her criminal activities warrants assassination of her and several of her ministers.
“On down to even civilians who work in all these agencies who have repeatedly lied to the electorate and conspired with the First Minister.”
Where indeed……
