The reason Sir Keir Starmer & the Labour party at HQ do not want call for just a (immediate) ceasefire (without always instead having to add a prefix prior to the word ‘ceasefire) is that it appears they do not want to ‘Bite (one of the many) Hand(s) that feeds them’ (funds them)….
Last year in June it was reported that “The UK Labour Party’s latest corporate mega-donor is a pro-Israel businessman whose company profited from South African apartheid” where in a report in The Financial Times which stated that “their new megadonor. a multimillionaire , donated £5 million ($6.29m) to become the party’s biggest donor and one of the biggest political donors in Britain. It is claimed that Starmer is now filling the gap in Labour’s finances with the support of wealthy business donors , when Labour had been plunged into a financial crisis, largely as a result of its purge of left-wing members. It has reportedly lost around 200,000 members since Jeremy Corbyn was leader, costing the party more than $10.5m in lost membership fees”.
Plus Declassified UK reported that:
“In November 2023 it was reported that MORE than 40 per cent of Sir Keir Starmer’s cabinet has been funded by pro-Israel groups, a new report revealed today. Donations have been received by Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer, his deputy Angela Rayner, shadow foreign secretary David Lammy, and shadow international development minister Lisa Nandy”.
Plus
“More than half of the cabinet are listed as supporters or officers of Labour Friends of Israel (LFI)” where LFI had donated £50,000 to Sir Keir’s 2020 leadership bid, and a total of £200,000 to the shadow cabinet….plus Shadow chancellor Rachel Reeves received some £17,000 to travel to Israel”
Well now we know why Sir Keir has been reticent to vehemently condemn the Israel government , the IDF and too all of the destruction that is happening with thousands dying in Gaza and thus why he has not demanded a ceasefire NOW !
Follow the money ( see also Mr Wes Streeting Shadow Health Secretary aka Mr ‘Hold the door wide open’ to the NHS for the private sector) which was a declaration made by him that was, I assume, made largely because of the large donations to both him, Keir Starmer and other Labour party MP’s by a Private Health Care company…..so who else, as a Private business/corporation has donated to them as a political party and also as the next assumed UK government ?
Labour Heartlands online reported last year that :
“Sir Keir Starmer, the Leader of the Opposition and a prospective Prime Minister, has found himself enriched by the tune of £157,500.00 from donors associated with the private healthcare sector. Yvette Cooper, the Shadow Home Secretary, boasts an even more substantial sum of £295,205.00. Meanwhile, Labour’s Dan Jarvis, juggling his role as the Mayor of South Yorkshire, has managed to secure a handsome £137,500.00 in donations from the private health industry. As for the Shadow Secretary of State for Health, the individual who would be entrusted with overseeing the NHS under a Labour government, his pockets have been lined with an impressive £193,725.00 in contributions”.
Yet we had Jackie Baillie at the latest Labour in Scotland party conference state in her speech “And so just as we are the Party who created the NHS; it’s our job now to save it”…..
Would ‘Saving’ the NHS be with the help of donations from PRIVATE HEALTHCARE companies and thus contracts and more involvement being awarded to the private sector within the NHS ??? ( as in a return for the money donated to your party Jackie)……
Can Jackie also help her Labour colleagues in Wales , her speech declared that Labour have ALL of the solutions and answers to ‘save’ the NHS….. but via some media reports upon the Labour Welsh government I believe there are problems, and even a crisis within some areas of their NHS, that they seem unable to address or solve e.g. long waiting lists, recruitment and retention, sickness absence and a heavy reliance on temporary staff and other issues that Jackie says she sees as failures in Scotland via the SNP….so since she states that both she and her party (not Labour Wales though obvs) has ALL of the answers….she should travel to Wales and impart her wisdom to her Labour colleagues there re the NHS…
I counted that the word “Change” was said by Jackie Baillie 17 times in her speech which I found online……less than Sarwar (he said Change 60 times in his speech) but still enough mentions to prove it is a just a cheap vapid campaign slogan created by someone behind the scenes in their Campaign team ?…..
I certainly will not “Change” my mind on the Labour party….still a NO for me on ever voting for them in any election…..simples.

As the above is about the HS I see SNP bad Doctor is at it again,
The anti-SNP head of BMA Scotland, Dr Iain Kennedy, has just claimed that his trade union has no remit to comment on UK funding cuts that impact Scotland’s NHS. He refused to criticise the UK Govt. Do his members agree with this extraordinary comment

Our politicians should be legally prevented from taking any money from companies or individuals, period.

‘just a cheap vapid campaign slogan’: what is this about Labour and ‘change’?
Change Westminster’s FPTP voting system? ‘No.’
Change by abolishing the House of Lords? – ‘No – well what we mean is not yet, maybe sometime in the future but to be clear, we do remain committed to do this’.
What about change by reforming of the House of Lords? – ‘Well maybe just a wee tiny bit and it will be a really radical wee bit of reform.’
What about change by reversing BREXIT by negotiating freedom of movement, a customs union, even re-entry to the EU? – ‘No – but we will achieve major change – a step change benefit to trade with the EU no less – through negotiation of minor technical matters. Just you wait and see!’
Change by moving away from Tory neoliberal economics, fiscal rules and all? – ‘Well no – but regardless, you should vote for Labour because it really is a democratic socialist party!’
Phase out reliance on weapons of mass destruction? - ‘You must be joking – who do you think runs this Party, socialist members in Scotland?’
Change by moving away from Tory Unionism to respect Scotland’s right to self-determination? – ‘No, no a thousand time no. We are very clear on this – never!’
Any change regarding Northern Ireland’s right to holding a border poll if there is a democratic mandate for it? ‘What a daft question! Of course not, Labour is a principled supporter of democracy.’
And what about any change regarding the status of the Falkland Islands? ‘None, we agree with the present Tory Government. It’s up to those who live there to determine their constitutional future. With respect, that’s another daft question! Don’t pretend that you don’t know that Labour is a beacon of support for democracy and the international principles of self-determination.’
So what changes? ‘How much ‘change’ do you need? Haven’t you been tracking all our policy U-turns? We’re demonstrating our commitment to change – daily!’

The last three tweets from Keir Starmer on his Twitter account all include the word ‘Change’ in them
One tweet 3hrs ago……one tweet 22hrs ago and another one 1 day ago.
So yes ‘Change’ is most definitely just a vapid slogan…….and like most words promoted as pledges/promises…without action…… they then have no real meaning…..
Plus if you promise people a “Change” from what they are getting now then you at least have to be able to offer them something different from what they are getting now from the Tory party….and not, as it appears, more of the same.
