I worked as a school secretary for over 20 years and I have no idea what Pisa is.
Our Education Correspondent, Fion Brews, tells us:
Researchers have found that Scottish head teachers hid Pisa results from their secretaries because they feared that this often stroppy group might blackmail them with the evidence that Scottish weans were not frightened enough to do better in them.

Loved that Education Correspondent quote, Reminds me of one from a friend of mine, the Secretary at an Ayrshire Primary School, who said: “It’s a marvellous job; there are just three drawbacks: the weans, their parents, and most of all – the teachers.”

Perhaps because THIS person can spell, can grasp basic grammar, doesn’t do block capitals, doesn’t have a stammer, and volunteered comment same as yourself, but didn’t call you jaundiced or biased….
Just guessing, but seems fair. EH ?

Pisa should be taken in context across the world……not by uk unionists making it up
for their own political gain in their usual put down of Scotland…..it doesn’t wash any more…..Scotland is on to your unionist fakery!!!
Pisa explanations and contexts are easy to find, we don’t need the very tired and corrupt bbc to re interpret for us “dumb” Scots!!!

Yes the evening telegraph sees it all you know expert sleuths slithering around Dundee looking for complaints or any sort of sadness to print about Dundee

Not surprised, in fact pleased to hear that many school secretaries have never heard of PISA.
There’s so much wrong with PISA that it’s surprising that any country takes part.
Why should anyone pay attention to a report that based an assessment of the entire education system of a country on three subjects, a handful of schools and fifteen year old pupils, selected by the participating country as typical of the whole country?
