This is a hugely important sign of the success of the SNP in Government despite lacking full control of taxation, benefits or any ability to borrow. It should be a big story, at least much as drug deaths but it’s nowhere.

  1. Clearly BBCScorchedland does not give a f*ck about actually reporting the actual news about Scotland . It has a Pick n’ Mix attitude to ”news” that affects us .

    1. ooops … cont’d … carefully picking the news that does not show the SNP Government in a good light .
      Their viewing figures are immaterial to them as they receive their funding and their political direction from London . They are , in effect , a cuckoo in the nest of Scottish media .
      Unfortunately the cuckoos have practically taken over the Scottish nest as we are swamped by English media , whether it be broadcast( TV/Radio )or the London print media masquerading a s ”Scottish ” newspapers .
      Surprising that , given these propaganda outlets dominating the Scottish media , in poll after poll support for Independence still remains so strong . Imagine what support might be if we had a decent , neutral media landscape in Scotland ?

  2. BBC’s sole purpose it seems, is to run down Scotland, it’s Government, it’s people and its achievements.

    It’s a propaganda outfit dressed up a a news broadcaster on behalf of Westminster, it’s nothing more. It deserves all the ridicule it gets.

    1. I should clarify that I was referring to BBC Scotland in my comment.

      In my opinion, the BBC Network Wide broadcasts often reports much more accurately in relation to Scotland, much to BBC Scotland’s dismay I am sure.

Based on your article and the btl comments via those above I would say that we all know what is REALLY sadly LACKING in Scotland as in that which we the public in Scotland are deprived of …..is there any need to mention what that is…Hmm…okay I will….honesty, integrity , transparency, truth, information, objectivity in balanced output, positivity, equal representation etc etc and indeed all of the things one should expect from a media…… but in Scotland, they as a media, deem that the above list is somehow NOT significant as responsibilities they need to enact or values to adopt as best practice that they, as a media, need to uphold on behalf of their viewers, listeners and readers in Scotland but instead they bow down to those who oppose us within their UK………

    In fact truth is the media here, especially the BBC as a so called news media, are themselves sadly lacking in doing the job they are supposed to do…… .in fact I would go so far in saying that we in Scotland are greatly impoverished in the choice we have to rely upon for the supposed news (via MSM)….where we (supposedly) are ………and that receiving that (our) news from a BRITISH source is perhaps a clue to the crux of the problem that we have here in Scotland……with a certain BBC ‘Scotland’ news (non) provider………..

  6. The UK-wide BBC, network news, 24 hour news, politics live, radios 4 & 5 are now overwhelmingly England-centric in outlook and output.
    Presenters, content and focus is all about England, even though funding is from UK-wide licence fees.
    BBC and Radio Scotland are utterly pathetic, biased and non-Scottish in outlook, and Scotland has never had a fair funding settlement.
    A Scottish 6 was dropped on the grounds of “parochiality”,
    A joke, right? Well the joke is on us!
