One fast English railway equals 353 state-of-the-art, high-end, really spacious, big Scottish ferries

Scotland’s delayed, state-of-the-art, hybrid, high end, really spacious, big ferries look like costing up to £300 million each.

They seem likely to be fodder for Scottish churnalists even long after they sail.

Less appealing fodder even though there once was a Scottish stage, it seems, is HS2 as the Manchester stage is binned.

Reuters yesterday estimated HS2 to run to £106 billion or 353 state-of-the-art, high-end, hybrid, really spacious, big ferries. We could replace all 34 CalMac ferries, keep several in reserve and still have plenty to sell to troubled Washington State and BBC Ferries and then…..

  1. Funny thing that it’s only London to B’ham that’s going to get a high speed service, quite similar to the Channel Tunnel where a straight through service was going to run direct from European cities as far north as Glasgow but never made it beyond London.

  2. Another Tory catastrophe. Total waste of time and money. Rail journeys take twice as long in the North and Scotland. To improve rail times there needs to be investment in the North. Another Tory waste. Osbourne wasted. A bullet train in Japan. Over 100Million people. Densely populated. The Tories ruined the Oil revenues. Brexit lost 100 Billion.
Tories spending 1090Billion. Taxes raised in UK. 731Billion. The year before 817Billion.

Scotland raises 87Billion. Spends 54Billion. Westminster spends the rest on nonsense. 13Billion on decommission nuclear a year for over ten years. Cut the NHS, Education and welfare. The Tory complete shambles.

Labour by election turnout 37 Percent. Tory collapse.
