Panicked UK Labour exploits school staff and risks pupil interests to aid their Rutherglen by-election campaign

BBC Scotland is headlining this story – Scottish school strikes: Unions split as parents brace for school closures – but carefully avoiding any mention of the dirty tricks, below, by UK Labour, as we approach the Rutherglen and Hamilton West by-election, where Labour’s victory expectations show signs of panic.

Unison’s split with the GMB and Unite make little sense until you see this:

Johanna Baxter is the Labour Party‘s CLP Representative on both the National Executive Committee and the Scottish Executive Committee.[1] She is regarded as a Corbynsceptic and has been endorsed by Blairite group Progress and ‘old right’ organisation Labour First. https://wikispooks.com/wiki/Johanna_Baxter

AND

UNISON Scotland head of local government, Johanna Baxter said: “This revised offer is far too little, too late.  Strikes will therefore proceed next week. We cannot agree to a pay offer that will result in further cuts to our members jobs and the services they provide. https://unison-scotland.org/local-government-and-schools-pay-campaign-2023/

Scandalous but not getting much coverage.

  1. So Johanna Baxter says the offer amounts to 0.5% compared to Unite’s statement that it’s 9.59% (£2006) for those on the living wage or 5.5% or £1929 whichever is greater for the ones on higher rates.
Who is telling the truth? You decide

    1. No. What she said was:

For members who earn above the Scottish Local Government Living Wage this offer differs from your original offer by only 0.5% in-year

differs from your original offer by only 0.5%

  2. Is this a version of “Gutter politics” …as in the kind of “shocking behaviour” that Jackie Baillie was mouthing about quite recently via her (faux) condemnation ….or is this particular incident one that she, Baillie, will conveniently ignore….for reasons too obvious to even note….surely there must now be bigger cracks showing in their New New Labour political Glass house …..thus I guess desperate times call for desperate measures…as……

Nowt seems to be TOO low…even the gutter….for some political parties it seems (rinse and repeat)….

  3. Stuck the knife in Corbyns back and is possibly one of the most powerful
Woman in UK Labour. I would also reckon that she is Little Sarwar and the dames boss!!!
Projects herself as a Socialist but is far removed from that. Even Ein Fuhrer Starmer will be afraid of her.
A nasty wee woman who has one goal….power…..doesn’t care about children’s education or workers and certainly couldn’t give a monkeys about anything other than herself and her precious Union…a Blairite/Thatcherist with with a single crusade…power power power.
    God Save Us All!!!
The really weird thing is when 2 unions representing the same workforce call her
out….embarrassing for Labour and their movement.
Labour Chaos….Labour Fiasco….Meltdown at Labour HQ…… Labour divisions
    Should be the headlines.

  4. From the Herald in the same article that quotes the email:

The advice was later rejected by Unite’s HQ. A spokesman said: “This is not official Unite guidance. Under no circumstances are we advising our members to cross the official picket lines of any trade union taking strike action.”

You’re being played, and it’s game set and match to the Unionist Misinformation Machine.

Unite didn’t, it was one single rogue branch official.
