Scotland’s energy minister Gillian Martin will this week lead a trade delegation to Denmark, the Scottish Government has announced.
Martin will be in Copenhagen to tout the country’s renewable sector in meetings with the Danish Parliament’s Climate, Energy and Supply Committee, the country’s energy agency and North Sea wind turbine manufacturer Esbjerg Port.
Along with the minister, Scottish Renewables, Crown Estate Scotland, SSE and representatives of ports in Aberdeen and the Forth will also join the delegation.
Ahead of leaving for Denmark, Ms Martin said: “The North Sea offers great opportunities for collaboration in energy industries where Scotland and Denmark enjoy competitive advantages, such as wind, hydrogen and carbon storage. These technologies will be vital to reaching net zero.
“The Scottish Government is working with investors to develop projects which will enable large-scale energy production and export to Europe.

Yes but they will be there acting on behalf of the new Freeport’s in Scotland which will be of benefit to private industry but not the actual people of Scotland .
The only good point here is that if these industries are still vibrant when Scotland becomes independent we might be able to influence how much people in Scotland have to pay for the energy their country produces in bountiful amounts.

Re Gillian Martin…is she ‘allowed’ to go there without supervision from the UK government…..I thought that all trips abroad by Scottish ministers now must have a ‘chaperone’ representing the UK government…..obviously to ensure that Scotland does not try to do ANYTHING beneficial for ONLY Scotland and it’s people…..as the UK government want, in this instance, most of the benefits and profits , derived from Scotland’s capacity and potential re renewable energy, to go somewhere else in the UK other than just Scotland……I mean have a heart….how on earth are Tory donors suppose to survive and profit if you do not have a Tory UK government controlling (dominating) not only OUR Scottish resources but also ALL of the discussions, shared knowledge, decisions and possible future collaborations with countries outwith the UK re OUR Scottish resources…..
So as they, the UK government, have declared themselves to be the self appointed PARENT in what has been falsely alleged, by some of them, as the UK being a supposed but clearly not ‘Family of Nations’….more really a dysfunctional family in all honesty…. then what we have witnessed and experienced in the UK is mainly the UK government as self appointed PARENT wanting total control over the rest of the FAMILY ….especially when some of the ‘children’ want to break free from the ‘Family’….but alas the self appointed PARENT says NO you must, for the rest of your life, stay with us….and as such they, as the self appointed PARENT, take control of the money, have control of the real power, make all the important decisions that effect everyone in the’ family’ and refuse to listen to what those, that they treat as their ‘children’, have to say re their needs and wants ….as like all bad parenting their needs and wants as ‘Parents’ are prioritised over that of their (assumed) ‘children’…..
Of course the UK has also been referred to as the ‘Awesome Foursome’ ……by Boris Johnson….during a time when , as PM, he was in one of his patronising moods to some of the foursome outwith his OWN politically ABYSMAL country…..of course SOME of the “Foursome” are more “awesome” than others via their resources which results in much profit for the UK Treasury aka DADDY’s UK wallet…..but that fact is never highlighted by the self appointed PARENT of the family as the self appointed PARENT prefers that we , as their children, believe that we need them more than they need us…..but as self appointed PARENT they think they can continue to force us to stay….while continuing also to not care about us, not respect us or basically ‘ALLOW’ us to do anything without their PERMISSION….which is rarely granted…….well it certainly is true that you can pick your friends BUT you cannot pick your ‘Family’ (or the country you want to live in as a citizen)….and if we, in Scotland, were not already in the UK ‘FAMILY’ and we were then , as an independent country, given a choice to JOIN it….seriously….. would we ????…..I think NOT….better to be single and then choose who we WANT to have a relationship with (like say the EU) than being within what is currently an ENFORCED toxic relationship……via the self appointed DADDY of the so called but NOT …..FAMILY.
