In April:

A FORMER UK Government minister has said that the Scottish Government should no longer be permitted to use British Embassies or receive any diplomatic status on international visits.
Lord Frost, who briefly served as the UK’s chief Brexit negotiator and now sits as a life peer in the House of Lords, urged the Foreign Secretary James Cleverly to go further in his attempts to freeze Scotland out of international diplomacy.
On Friday, Cleverly stated his intention to ensure that all meetings between SNP ministers and overseas governments would now have to go through the UK Government and be attended by its own officials.

Scottish Government signs agreement with Brittany on green energy
A cooperation agreement with the French region of Brittany aims to strengthen Scotland’s position as a leader in Europe’s offshore renewables industry.
The Scottish Government has signed a bilateral Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Brittany, the first of its kind for Scotland with a region in France.
The MOU will provide Scottish companies with opportunities to capitalise and share best practices on the expansion of offshore wind projects off the coast of Brittany.
A delegation of fifteen Scottish companies – supported by Scottish Development International – recently met representatives from Brittany’s offshore wind sector to discuss future collaboration.
The MOU will also instigate a programme of actions that will cover institutional relations, culture and heritage, education and research, fisheries and diaspora.
Separately, the Scottish Government signed the Rennes Declaration, which will build on existing cultural, historical and linguistic bonds with Brittany, Ireland, Wales and the Spanish Region of Galicia. The Forum will also be an opportunity to discuss collaboration with other partners such as Cornwall and the Spanish Region of Asturias.

“Scottish Government bypasses UK”
About time the majority of people in Scotland decided to BYPASS the UK….and finally take a step towards supporting Scotland to becoming an independent country…..then we would no longer have their UK politicians (and their media) interfere in OUR business in trying to block our access and influence with other countries within the world……the UK, as a (right) state, are holding us back and preventing us from becoming a stronger economy, fairer country and too a country who prefers NOT to isolate itself from the rest of the world….
Brexit really means EXIT does it not….and we all know what the ‘E’ stands for as far as UK politicians are concerned and too their client media…..also known as ones via the ‘dominant’ country within their UK….via everything !
I think we ALL know who, within the UK, are the REAL “Sepratists” do we not.

Earlier this week there was a report in the Guardian about an agreement between the Welsh Government and the local government in Cornwall to meet four times per year to discuss topics of common interest, such as cultural and language matters, but also topics like green energy.
The agreement was signed in mid July. It was not reported on BBC Wales but was reported on the BBC/Cornwall web page.
Given the Celtic links with Brittany, I wonder if there have been Welsh/Cornish approaches to the Bretons on a similar energy theme.
Will Lord Frost object to that, too?
I was surprised by the amount of space the Guardian gave to the wales/Cornwall link – about 1/2 page. The tone was very positive and the newspaper commended it. Usually the Guardian is dismissive about provincials and others.
