Corran ferry ‘may not return before end of August‘
The main vessel for the Corran ferry crossing is unlikely to be ready to return to service before the end of August, Highland Council has said.
The MV Corran left for maintenance work last October, but a problem was discovered with its propulsion system.
Highland Council, which runs the ferry service in Lochaber, had previously expected the boat to be back by the middle of the month.
It has blamed “capacity constraints” for the new delay.
The relief vessel, MV Maid of Glencoul, will continue to operate on the route, but carries fewer cars and passengers than MV Corran.

So, it’s not part of any CalMac ferry feeding frenzy material and there is a replacement ferry operating?
Images of massive queues? Nope. Wonder why.
Makes you wonder if this report is intended to keep the ferry fiasco narrative going in the absence of actual news.
Actually, how is CalMac doing? Well 2 of the 18 Claonaig/Tarbert sailings were cancelled yesterday as were 4 of the 20 Oban to Lismore. So only 509 out of 518 (98.3%) on time. Shocking, no? No.
The day before? 98.3%.
The day before that? 100% on time.
For the preceding week, in the 99.2% to 99.8% range.
Brittany ferries today? Only 78% on time today.
