I know they’re still at times infuriating but, once more STV reported last night, good news that could reflect well on the SNP Scottish Government:
A record number of places for trainee doctors have been filled, the Scottish Government said.
Data from NHS Education for Scotland showed as of July 25, 1,061 of the 1,137 traineeship posts advertised have been recruited for – with the total higher than last year’s record by 100 posts.
All advertised positions in general practice, psychiatry, anaesthetics, radiology and emergency medicine have now been filled, with the trainee doctors due to take up their places next month.
Public health minister Jenni Minto welcomed the figures, saying they showed “that Scotland continues to be recognised as a highly desirable place both to live and pursue a career in medicine”.

In June, Sandesh Gulhane (Con) MSP insisted:
It’s straightforward for foreign doctors and nurses to come to the UK but that they don’t want to come to Scotland because “Scotland is not an attractive place”.

The NHS in Scotland..is one (of many) GO TO targets to try and damage the Scottish government…for seemingly anyone and everyone who wants to stop the SNP and too independence…however the DIRE state of the NHS in England and Wales are apparently, in no way considered to be as perceived , by the public, as a reflection of ….or a TARGET of …. via those very SAME people upon either the TORY UK government or the Labour Welsh government or indeed the (non) UK itself as a state….and it is indeed in a right (wing) state….
Alas we, Scotland, are still a part of the UK and thus are compelled to currently suffer the consequences that ensue because of that fact….though you would be hard pushed to find any pro UK politician admit to that fact…..indeed they promote the opposite as in that we, in Scotland, need the UK more than it needs us….while failing to note what and who England, within the UK, needs in order to sustain themselves…..and also never explaining why so much time , effort and money is expended by them as Pro UK parties in trying to keep Scotland a part of THEIR UK…..an enigma…or rather ONLY an enigma if you fail to see that what THEY are claiming as factual is not matched by what THEY are ALL constantly trying to do, in their combined relentless campaign, to desperately try to keep us, or rather our country, a part of their UK…..I mean one would hardly consider the Tory party as ones renowned as those who would be supportive of those in need and thus willing to support them financially ( a category that Scotland could never be classified as being within…indeed truth is tis their England who needs us more than we need them…. and too their need for the UK as a (right wing) state to be sustained).

Dame Alison Rose was Chief Executive of Royal Bank of Scotland Group when it was renamed NatWest Group three years ago.
The NatWest Group HQ’s are still in Edinburgh.

There are 25% mature students in Scotland and life long learning. Left out of the equation? For poorer homes?
30% from school. 25% mature students. EU students (less), foreign students paying the full cost. The most universities in the world pro rata.less student debt. Most of which will not be paid back. An impossible burden in the South. Loan books being sold off. The ConDems cut education funding £6Billion a year from 2915 to 2020. £30Billion. In loan books. Half will never be paid back. Another Tory con.
