Several recently arrived islanders have been working with Scotland’s MSM to suggest a crisis in Scotland’s subsidised ferry service.
Coincidentally, as CalMac made 518 sailings on time yesterday, to hit 100% reliability and 95.4% over the summer season, BC Ferries on Canada’s west coast are accused of creating chaos with multiple cancellations:
B.C. Ferries is a crucial part of the province’s infrastructure, connecting the Lower Mainland with Vancouver Island, the Sunshine Coast and the Gulf Islands.
Independently managed but provincially owned, the ferries transport tourists to popular vacation destinations and provide essential services to people who live and work on the islands that dot B.C.’s coast and in communities on the central and north coasts.
But this summer, getting on a ferry has felt like scoring tickets to the hottest concert in town, as B.C. Ferries has been plagued by technical difficulties with its vessels, last-minute cancellations, staffing shortages and confusion about the availability of reservations online.

BC Ferries make quite good comparison for CalMac. British Columbia is 54 degrees North and the Scottish Hebrides are about 57 North. Both operate in an archipelago with many islands and often high winds. Canada does have the advantage of a more vibrant and affluent economy due to full independence from England.
However, the winds on Scotland’s west coast are far stronger, more dangerous and more disruptive:

These are of course averages but clearly indicate that CalMac operates in a far more challenging climate.
CalMac cancels at around 40 to 45MPH or 60 to 70KMh.
When BC Ferries fail, government ministers accuse the ferry service management. Opposition parties respect the fact that government ministers are not responsible for day-to-day management and say nothing.

Yes recent arrivals to the islands brought in to create a story then leave , they are getting desperate now.
We know their lies their trickery Scottish people know they print nonsense , it’s the visitors from England that will stop visiting , their loss.

Oh yes I know that because when the BBC announced a few weeks ago that they were going to visit the islands for a whole week to speak to ‘islanders’ about the Ferry ‘crisis’…one incomer to the islands, who originated from London, and who in an exchange on Twitter was reminded that in 2014 she was very vocal in her support for ‘NO’ in 2014…was most excited about the BBC’s visit, so much so , that she reached out to residents of her island to ask them to prepare and compile issues upon the Ferry ‘crisis to relate them to the BBC….while ensuring that the people she reached out were reminded what to focus on (negatives only) via the ferry ‘crisis’.
I checked out her Twitter account and lo and behold I found that she had been retweeting one Torcuil Critchton, ex MSM ‘journalist’ from the Daily Record, and now Labour’s prospective candidate for Na h-Eileanan an Iar……why I am sure tis just a coincidence and that in NO WAY her alternative motive in stirring up dissent via the Ferries…. is ONE way that she sees that could be successful in replacing the SNP MP with a pro UK party MP as political representative for her newly CHOSEN home …..because nothing obviously, in HER eyes, guarantees an improvement and complete transformation in the FERRY services than a political party (Labour HQ) dictating and controlling it all via LONDON, England compared to Edinburgh, Scotland…..
I never watched the BBC’s week on the islands…as I myself was in the islands of Coll & Tiree…where I experienced great service via the Ferries….and to be honest the real crisis connected to all of this is the potential, via negative publicity, to deter visitors to the islands and thus impact business there…all because of the publicity the MSM, mostly the BBC, are promoting …all in THEIR quest to destroy the SNP and thus independence while the fallout is for them of no consequence, as they, the BBC, have a job to do….and currently in Scotland THAT job is to promote and support the Labour party and to do that they need to create #SNPBAD news which they will regurgitate as and when they see fit….meanwhile we the people will suffer the consequences as too will those who live on the islands…but for the BBC and Labour….all is fair in their combined war upon the SNP and independence….meanwhile the various UK governments over the years have all been given very much a free pass, as far as any blame is concerned, for anything and everything that has , and still is , impacting us all within Scotland that is ignored or diminished by the BBC and too all of our Scottish (INO) media ever since the SNP has risen as a political force within Scotland…..forget Ferry ‘crisis’ in Scotland….how about highlighting the many crises connected to UK governments including the CURRENT TORY Govt…..why sure some are compiling a list of their, current Tory government’s, numerous way OVER budget, as in escalating costs and delay in projects that they are in charge of (HS2 to name one)….and too the failed and extremely expensive , £5.5 billion, flawed Ajax Tanks not fit for purpose etc etc…….which as REAL crises in incompetence and wastefulness are THE stories the BBC here will not touch….so cry me a puddle on the Ferry ‘crisis’ as there are much BIGGER fish to fry…as in those in charge doon south at WM.
BTW I could not list the many many flawed, failed and extremely expensive projects of the past and current TORY UK governments or their wasting of tax payers money as the list is way too long….I hope someone somewhere IS compiling that very long list….as for Labour well they take us into fake wars and in 2014 they were the Tories ‘B*tches (rhymes with Witches) for the (NON) Union so their hands are not ‘clean’…..plus there is a LIST for them too…in incompetence and bad government…..a list I hope that is being held by some others too….like say the person who has THIS blog….
