I recall even Nicola Sturgeon praising Anas Sarwar’s political skills, but the mutual backslapping in the media/political bubble rarely if ever reflects how they’re viewed by the public.
eg NS once opined that James Cook was a thoroughly professional journalist, yet you’d struggle to find many in Scotland agreeing with that summation.
