NHS staffing in Scotland has reached a new record high level, increasing by nearly a quarter under the SNP.
 
Under the SNP’s time in government:
– Qualified nurses and midwives are up by over 5,500 – an increase of 13.7%;
– Medical and dental consultants up by 63.2% with 2,000 extra in post;
– Allied health professionals (excluding paramedics) up by over 2,000, an increase of 26.3%.
 
Plus, more than 1,000 additional healthcare support staff have been recruited since last October and almost 200 registered nurses from overseas.
