Former PR man offers a wee badge while former nurse offers the living wage

English Health Secretary and former PR man, Matt Hancock, has announced a badge of honour for care staff so that they can get the kind of public recognition they deserve. The estimated cost will be £0.14 per person for the badges. The contract has already gone to a manufacturer in Wuhan, China.

In Scotland:

‘Social care support workers providing direct adult support will have their pay increased to at least the Real Living Wage rate of £9.30 an hour for all hours worked, including sleep-overs and hours worked by personal assistants. The Scottish Government will also provide funding to third sector and independent providers specifically to ensure staff receive sick pay if they are off work ill or because they are self-isolating.’

Btw I’m not sure Carers who support Rangers will be to chuffed with the badge.

      1. Just recovered from my allocated 30 min lockdown exercise.

I would imagine that the Yes voting glory hunter’s would be caring people.

Hope that’s the Ayr United Bairns.

I don’t suppose that’ll be the Ayr United Bairns.

    1. It seems that the badge is not going to be given. It has to be paid for by the recipient.

A care worker was asked by @BBCNewsbeat earlier whether she will be buying one of the new CARE badges, she said “No, they are being sold for £8.99 and my wage is only £8.75 an hour””
