Scottish Labour virus in YouTube!

By NMRN

BBC Website Scotland page:

There is now only one story in the top section of this page re the nasty political episode we recently witnessed with Dross U turning on his former decision on standing as an MP and choosing the seat of a sick colleague who himself stated he wanted to still stand as the chosen Tory candidate for that seat…..this story is the fifth story in their top section of stories

(Soon I am sure to descend even lower as a story before it disappears completely)……..compare and contrast with the multitude of stories on Michael Mathieson which lasted for days/weeks which as headlines were all ‘attacks’ on Mr Mathieson and not as a story one that very quickly became a story via his colleagues defending him that was headlined as such by the BBC website.

The headline in this fifth story on Dross is:

“Tories insist Ross played no part in dropping candidate”

Way way further down are other older stories on this episode via DRoss and Duguid in other sections of this page………also soon , I am sure, to disappear..…completely.

Also in top section of this page is a story on Sarwar headlined as:

“Sunak’s early return from D-Day events ‘unforgivable’ – Sarwar”

Labour the third party at Holyrood and currently with only 2 WM MP’s elected via Scotland yet Anas Sarwar is promoted as if he was the Scottish FM and also as if the majority of MP’s elected via Scotland were Labour MP’s………..this story re Sarwar is the third story on the BBC Scottish Politics page………sorry has the actual FM of Scotland , John Swinney, not also remarked on this sorry Tory episode via Sunak……and thus why then is that not also being headlined on the BBC website via either their Scotland page or their Scottish Politics page.

Just so readers know this is what our actual FM John Swinney was reported as having said (elsewhere in the media) on that sorry Tory PM episode:

“The SNP leader told journalists during a campaign event in Livingston: “I think Rishi Sunak’s credibility is completely destroyed by his departure from D-Day early and the insult he delivered to the veterans who had travelled to Normandy for that solemn occasion”

Also on the BBC Scottish Politics page there are headlined stories that are headlined only about David Duguid not Dross….also soon, I am sure, to disappear from that page….in the hope that it, as another Tory nasty and sorry episode, is then also forgotten and thus deemed insignificant.

BTW I had a heads up from a friend that when she was on YouTube there was a lot of videos interrupted by advertising from Scottish Labour…… she told me she had a multitude of Scottish (INO) Labour videos taht kept coming up and interrupting what she was watching…..her daughter also told her this happened to her too …then I read this funny comment online:

” Is it just me, but why the f I’m gettin Scottish Labour adds like every 3 minutes on youtube”?

“It only started like yesterday evening and today, literally anything I watch after 3 mins and the again and again getting this Scottish Labour ad. I’m not even in politics idk wtf who’s Scottish Labour are and so on, but if you f kin paid for this, f**** off. Ok”?

Someone else responded “Yes, I’m getting the same crap too, My twitter feed is also full of Labour tweets. They’ve obviously splurged a lot of money to various social media platforms to get their message out. Still can’t say I am any the wiser on what they stand for though, other than Unionism and genocide”

So I spoke to my friend again and she said that was exactly what happened to her on YouTube…every three mins or so another advert came up for Scottish Labour…..she said it must be costing them a mint…..so how much money are they, as a party, getting via donations and how much are they spending on trying to gain seats in Scotland….plus all of the free publicity via the medial here in Scotland……I would be surprised if after all of that they didn’t indeed win over some voters……..mind you my friend said the constant adverts irritated her more and thus had an adverse impact on how she felt about Labour….(as in same reaction as the person quoted above via their online comment on this….so this could backfire on Labour party big time…..as be seen as propaganda and also Q’s asked where this money for these multitude of adverts has come from to do this )

Has anyone else seen this via Social media….Facebook, YouTube etc ?

This reminds me of pre Brexit and all of the Facebook adverts, many of which were fake declarations (Lies) on what would happen if we both stayed in and also left the EU………..with Cambridge Analytica behind many of these adverts……….whose doing these Scottish Labour’s adverts ?????……….

BTW the BBC in 2017 ran a story on their website entitled “Election 2017: Scottish voters targeted by ‘dark ads’ on Facebook”….hmm have they, the BBC, also seen the excessive amount of online ads via Scottish Labour targeting Scottish voters just now for this 2024 GE………..

In 2017 “the UK’s Information Commissioner, Elizabeth Denham, launched an investigation into political adverts on social media and the “potential impact they have on an individual’s privacy”.

“Facebook is a gold mine of personal data”…….”This information allows parties an unprecedented opportunity to splinter their message – to tailor, tweak, personalise and craft their messages to very specific niches of the electorate”.

“But, unlike traditional posters or pamphlets, political adverts on social media are “dark” in the sense that only the intended audience will see the advert – our neighbours may very well see a different advert from the same party”

However in this BBC story they, BBC, chose to highlight what they said was a ‘Dark ad’ via the SNP’s Mhairi Black which they, BBC , said was targeting voters under 20 the ad was her face and a message “STOP Scrolling” with the SNP Logo on picture…..where they, BBC, state “For the first time we get an insight into the world of so-called “dark advertising” and how Scottish voters specifically have been targeted”

So this is now the 2024 GE and ‘Dark ads’ via Scottish Labour are extremely active and excessive on social media targeting Scottish voters…………..so then BBC Scotland whose corporation is self appointed monitor of dark Ads in elections…………..over to you….and start do your job !

Waiting !…………..still waiting…………..still waiting !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (suspect this will be a long wait……)

  1. Anyone getting annoyed by ads on YouTube, for Labour or whatever, would be well advised to swap to SmartTube. It’s basically YouTube without the ads.
Imagine the joy of knowing that Labour are forking out £££ for ads that no-one is watching. 😂

  2. Yes, I was watching a youtube video on Saturday evening about – of all things – a Dutch pilot landing a 737 in blustery conditions at Amsterdam, and the video was interrupted countless times by Labour ads, although not specifically Scottish as it was all English accents and some with images of Starmer. I believe there may have been a Tory one as well, but I cut it short, too, where a ‘skip’ was possible. I don’t mind putting up with short ads at the beginning which I generally ignore anyway, but detest constant interruptions.

  3. Thanks for that screenshot NMRN – Of your 7 lead articles on HMS James Cook, I see 5 on the ‘furrner’ version, so the duplicity is quite clearly following the Nick Robinson ‘impartial’ school of reporting, serious editing and a voiceover… Omitted are the “Man, 43, charged after body found in city flat” and the “Islay and Jura ferry launched in Turkey” as main stories…

So before posting, a quick BBC Scotland page refresh, and strewth, they are finally on the ball ” Scotland squad serenaded by piper as they leave for Germany ” 🤣

Presumably James is agreeing the text and format with the Forres Gump before publication at stupid o’clock, as all impartial journalists do…at BBC Scotland…cough…

    1. Hi Bob…screenshots were via Prof Robertson and not I…..so thanks goes to him alone for that.

Apologies for typos on main written article (which was originally a comment by me via another post on this blog)….now that was all me…LOL

I really need to start writing future comments on here firstly on Word and then copy and paste onto here….at least then I would hopefully have less obvious mistakes in my BTL comments as I would have more time to check grammar, spelling etc before clicking ‘Submit comment’………or perhaps just gie up…..LOL

  5. “I think Rishi Sunak’s credibility is completely destroyed ….” – there is a lot of this ‘credibility destroying’ about!

From the Institute for Government (6 June 2024): ‘Ruling out tax rises undermines Sunak’s and Starmer’s credibility on public services’.

This London-based, establishment-endorsed, centrist think tank states (with my emphasis):

‘… the promises on tax (coupled with promises to limit borrowing and debt) imply tight limits on public spending. It is not plausible to think that the next government can address existing major problems in public services without spending more than is currently pencilled in – or announcing cuts to some areas of services or social security.’

‘The tax pledges seriously undermine the credibility of their public service aspirations: the parties are presumably hoping the electorate will not notice. But recent polling, showing that more than half of people expect tax rises under either a Labour or Conservative government, suggest that voters are not so easily fooled.’

And it repeats its assessment: ‘The promises all the main UK political parties have now made not to raise the rates of the main taxes fundamentally undermines the credibility of their promises on public services. Governing well requires making difficult trade-offs, including between a desire for low taxes and a desire for a range of high quality public services. Ruling out tax rises implies a choice about what spending can be afforded. Such choices should not be made lightly and the electorate should understand the implications.’

  6. My friend’s daughter said taht they , Labour ads for ‘Scottish’ Labour but with Starmer in them, are on most of ‘The Voice’ YouTube videos…..drove her Nuts as videos she was watching kept being interrupted with a Labour ‘Change’ advert for Scottish Labour….but they had Wes Streeting in one of them re the NHS with Jackie Baillie also…..she, my friend’s daughter, just gave up watching videos as she was so angry…….no point continuing watching as there seemed to be more adverts for the Scottish (INO) Labour party and so their called “Change” than for the actual programme itself as in ‘The Voice”…..

My friend also said they, the Scottish Labour ads, were also on music videos for singers/guitarists she likes as well….so no ducking escape from them…….bloody virus alright….feels like we, in Scotland (and perhaps elsewhere too in UK) are been hacked by the (Scottish INO) Labour party………..LOL

Why Scottish Labour though ?……….is this for the Scottish elections in 2026……..cause we ain’t voting for Scottish Labour in this 2024 UK GE….are we …..chancers the lot of them……including Labour HQ and Herr Starmer…..You Vill obey Labour rules or else.

‘Stalked by Labour’….online…….via ‘Dark Money Ads’…..no less.

  7. John, the level of detail in your tireless analysis of data and the perspective it provides in stark contrast to the equal absence of the same in the MSM is fantastic. Thanks for the effort that you and other contributors put in to that end.
Increasingly, however, I’m finding myself a bit disappointed in what some might describe as pettiness in certain articles. For anyone looking for ammunition against the excellent work you do, there’s a growing amount of it. Sometimes, I feel that you’re in danger of going down the same road as Wings OS.
An example is using nicknames, such as “Dross”. Another might be sarcastic comments.
I appreciate that this site is not mainstream media and so is not bound by the same codes but I fear that the strength of the arguments expressed is easily diluted and therefore disregarded because of the tone sometimes used to express important points of view.
I’ll not be put off reading and considering your commentary but it would be great if all contributors could present their thoughts in a manner more respectful to all.

      1. Re Anonymous @ 7.46pm on 9 June

No John, that was not directed at you but I surmised was directed at me and the comments that I write on here…..which are , as Anon states above in his/her comment, full of pettiness, sarcasm and unnecessary nicknames e.g. DRoss… and so overall are not up the standard of your own brilliant fact filled pieces.

Your articles are great…..mine are not….

I only said “agree” in my response to Anon as in I was agreeing how bad my comments were on here……and that I would “cease and desist”…..

Have a nice day John (keep up good work…..I will keep reading your blog)

        🙂
