NHS Scotland's A&E departments nearly 20% faster to help deal with coronavirus crisis

Scottish Health Secretary praises NHS Scotland staff

In February 2020, 87.1% of attendances at Scottish A&E services were seen and resulted in a subsequent admission, transfer or discharge within 4 hours.

In the same period, only, at best, 73%* of attendances at English A&E services were seen and resulted in a subsequent admission, transfer or discharge within 4 hours.

*NHS England restart the clock after admission to massage their data.

So, crudely, the difference in performance is at least 14% but, statisticians tell me that we can say that 87.1% is 19.2% better than 73%.

  1. Ah, BUT !! And BUT again! And thrice BUT !

The hand cleaner is in an awkward position, and you cannot get to it for BBC Repressing Scotland camera crews.

Whit a disgrace—–quick, put Ruth Davidson in charge of the hand jobs, and……. if the air driers aren’t working, the blow jobs as well.

  2. I don’t like this smug attitude one bit! I am proud of our NHS workers but please remember we have a population about 8% the size of the UK as a whole. Let’s stop these futile and nasty comparisons of Scotland v England or the rest of,UK. We are one country and more than ever now, we need to work as a whole.
