Oh aye, £12 billion coming in is a’ very well but whae’s going tae pay tae repair this path? Tell me that! And, they’ve stolen some of the shortbread! That’s £2.99 we’ll no see again!
BBC Scotland’s report today does, of course, tell us about the boom in tourism but, true to their miserabilist agenda, they’ve found things to worry us with. They seem to prefer Prof John Lennon’s Help!ful research to any official statistics telling us how astonishingly much and fast-growing it is, such as:
Spending by tourists in Scotland generates around £12 billion of economic activity for the wider Scottish supply chain and contributes around £6 billion to Scottish GDP, representing about 5% of total Scottish GDP.

Everything is up in the last year and spend is up 25% in one year! Oh a know but whae’s gonna pay for mair bedsheets?

Back to that double-edged claymore?
BBC Scotland don’t seem to have remembered this Outlanderish tale:

I seem to recall the BBC banning The Corries as being “too political”.
Same old, same old…………………colonial mentality.

Its just a memory. The Corries weren’t on air at an election time, early 70’s(?) (they having a regular slot at the time); BBC issued a denial they were banned, but they were noticeably absent when highly popular.
Doesn’t matter. The BBC are highly suspect, but then, so is my memory!

The BBC have a list of banned/ suspect music that will not be played at political sensitive times.
