Almost twice as many school inspections in Scotland as in England after SNP Government boosts inspector numbers by 23%

The Herald capturing the news in 2016 but somehow missing it in 2019

The number of school inspectors available in Scotland has increased steadily and is now 23% higher than in 2012 after a year of staff retirements.

As might be expected, the number of inspections in 2018/19 has increased in line with this and, in the last year, increased by 23%

In England, between 1 September 2018 and 31 March 2019, Ofsted conducted 1,462 full inspections.

So, Scotland has 8% of the population yet its schools had 14.7% of all the school inspections in 2018/19.
